In Week 5, Patrick Mahomes struggled against man coverage and dominated zone coverage and the Chiefs managed just 13 points in a surprising home loss to the Colts.
Mahomes excelled vs the Colts defense when they played their usual zone coverage, but struggled facing their man coverage without his top 2 WR Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins.

Mahomes vs IND:
8-9, 115 yards, TD vs zone coverage (12.8 YPA)
12-28, 186 yards vs man coverage (6.6 YPA)
Indy’s game plan was designed to feature man coverage, which was a deviation from their usual scheme.
The @Colts held the Chiefs to 13 points on #SNF, the first game in Patrick Mahomes' career where KC scored fewer than 26 points.
