Davis Mills’ Projected Stat Line vs. Panthers In Week 3

Taking over for the injured Tyrod Taylor, here’s how we project Mills to fare on Thursday Night Football.

  • Davis Mills was selected as a long-term project by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, with both Deshaun Watson and Tyrod Taylor ahead of him on the depth chart.

  • With Watson away from the team due to the serious allegations made against him and Taylor now on the IR, he will start Thursday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

  • FanDuel is giving him a 220.5 passing yardage over/under, but BetQL’s model is projecting that he will throw for just 180 yards with a touchdown and an interception

  • BetQL is also projecting that Houston’s offense will generate only 18.5 points.

  • Keep reading to find out why that’s the case.

From Project To Starter

Davis Mills was not projected to be a starter for the Texans this season.

However, due to the situation with Deshaun Watson and injury to Tyrod Taylor, he will the thrust under center against the Panthers in Week 3.

Relieving Taylor in Week 2, Mills went 8-18 passing for 102 yards, a touchdown and an interception in an inefficient outing.

BetQL is also projecting that Houston’s offense will generate only 18.5 points against a Panthers defense that has allowed 14 points (to the Jets) and then seven points (to the Saints) to start off the season.

FanDuel is giving Mills a 220.5 passing yardage over/under, but BetQL’s model is projecting that he will throw for just 180 yards with a touchdown and an interception, thus making the under the clear best bet.
