Suddenly, the Chargers' season has taken a turn for the worse, now 1-2 after a 38-10 blowout loss to the Jaguars, while the Texans are 0-2-1 after a 23-20 loss to the Bears.
Los Angeles Chargers
After a second-straight loss, the Chargers are finding themselves in a desperate situation. Sure, Herbert was dealing with that rib injury in Week 3, and it'll linger for a while, but this team can't afford to fall to 1-3 playing in the AFC West.
L.A. is 2-1 ATS, though, and 1-2 O/U so far this year. They are also 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against Houston.
Houston Texans
The Texans have very different aspirations than the Chargers, but tend to be a solid team to back just like last year, now 2-0-1 ATS, and pretty close to a 2-1 record overall. That being said, Houston is 1-7-1 straight up in its last nine home games.
Chargers at Texans Prediction: Over 44
Neither team has been strong defensively so far, sitting in the bottom half of the league in total yards and yards allowed per play, so we have a chance for plenty of offense here, especially with the fact that the over has hit in seven of the Chargers' last nine games.
