New Orleans Saints vsChicago Bears Prediction
Expect a close game with the New Orleans Saints winning 52% of simulations, and the Chicago Bears 48% of simulations. In close games, turnover margin is especially important. The New Orleans Saints commit fewer turnovers in 52% of simulations and they go on to win 71% when they take care of the ball. The Chicago Bears wins 69% of the simulations in which they commit fewer turnovers. Drew Brees is averaging 264 passing yards per sim. If he can have a great game with better than average passing yards and at least a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio (36% chance) then he helps his team win 64%. Nick Foles is averaging 291 passing yards per sim. If he can have a great game with better than average passing yards and at least a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio (34% chance) then he helps his team win 52%.
New Orleans Saints vs Chicago Bears Prediction
Well, its officially official; the basketball & baseball seasons have run their course and it is now exclusively football season here in America. With division races heating up as the NFL season enters the midway, a particular week 8 matchup sending the New Orleans Saints to the midway to battle the Bears may offer some favorable opportunities for prospective bettors.
Chicago Bears Preview
The Chicago Bears have enjoyed some early success this year. Coming off a loss on Monday Night Football at the hands of the L.A. Rams, Chicago is now (5-2): good enough for 2nd place in the NFC North, currently. Like the Saints, the Bears have also had some inconsistencies an offense this season. After making the move earlier this year from QB Mitch Trubisky to the veteran (and former Super Bowl MVP) Nick Foles, the offense has appeared to stabilize. With that said, Chicago WR Allen Robinson & RB David Montgomery are legitimate weapons, but are seemingly having trouble finding their groove, so far. However, any week could be a monster week for players of that. In a week that appears to be a cold one in the “Windy City”, watch for the Bears to instantiate the run-game with a lot of Montgomery.
As widely known, it is the defense in Chicago that serves as the team’s furnace. With top-tier ballhawks like DBs Eddie Jackson & Kyle Fuller, wrecking machine LBs like Barkevious Mingo & Danny Trevathan, and a D-line anchored by Akiem Hicks & Khalil Mack, the “Monsters of the Midway” are here to bring the pressure.
For an added storyline, it is always fun when Brees & Foles get to go head-to-head. After all, the men share a high school alma mater. Both products of Austin’s (TX) Westlake High, you have to think a little more is on the line for these respective signal callers.
New Orleans Saints Preview
Coming off a slim victory over rival Carolina, New Orleans will take their (4-2) record and travel to Chicago to take on the Bears at a frigid Solider Field. Thus far on the 2020 NFL season, QB Drew Brees & the Saints have shown mixed results. Although the Saints are still undefeated within their division (NFC South) and have only dropped games to solid teams in Green Bay & Las Vegas, New Orleans’ offensive production has dwindled compared to previous seasons under Brees & HC Sean Payton.
An initial, easy factor to point toward would be the absence of NOLA’s all-pro WR Mike Thomas. Only a year removed from breaking the single-season reception record, Thomas has essentially missed the entirety of the current season. A nagging ankle injury coupled with internal disputes has rendered Thomas useless, and is listed as doubtful week 8 at Chicago.
Expect Brees to keep the passing game short & effective, utilizing rookie WR Marquez Callaway, RBs Alvin Kamara & Latavius Murray, and ultimate utility-man, Taysom Hill. They’ll battled a talented Bears’ defensive unit along with the challenging Autumn conditions of Solider Field.
New Orleans’ defense is respectable; with players like DE Cam Jordan & CB Marshon Lattimore, a takeaway can always be a play away. With that said, through six games this season, the “Who Dat” defense has had trouble keeping points off the board; the Saints have yet to allow less than 23 points in a game.
Full Game Prediction
I have a feeling this one will be tight, but I think Chicago protects homefield and gets a sloppy win over the Saints, 23-19. The game’s first touchdown scorer? Think about RBs Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray, or David Montgomery.
