As the season rolls on, I’m becoming more and more fond of the Thunder, who have continued to outperform expectations. OKC has covered three straight times, five out of their last seven opportunities and have gone 18-11 ATS overall. Further, they’ve gone 11-3 ATS after allowing 105 points or less in their previous game. Meanwhile, the Nuggets have gone just 13-16 ATS this season and an abysmal 18-36 ATS coming off an upset win as a road underdog under coach Mike Malone. Give me the young, hungry Thunder at +5.5 in this matchup, even if MVP candidate Nikola Jokic goes off for Denver.
It’s a bit bizarre seeing Mizzou as a +6.5 underdog against Army in the Armed Forces Bowl, but star running back Tyler Badie is going to sit out. He amassed 1,604 rushing yards, the most among all Power Five running backs, and also added 330 yards on 54 receptions and scored a total of 20 touchdowns for the Tigers. Further, redshirt freshman Brady Cook will make his first career start at quarterback for Missouri. He appeared in four games and went 18-23 for 103 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions and also chipped in with 39 rushing yards. Despite the unknowns, I’m going to trust the team with SEC recruits as a +6.5 underdog against Army, who is coming off an outright loss to Navy (4-8) in their last game.
Under Paul Mills, Oral Roberts has gone 19-5 ATS in December games and 9-1 ATS after two straight games in which they attempted 12+ free throws. Don’t forget that NCAA Tournament star Max Abmas is on this ORU team and is putting up 21.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 34.4 minutes per game. He’s going to routinely be the best player on the floor in his games and BetQL is listing this as a five-star bet.
