The strong and impressive defense of N.C. State has been its cornerstone over the last few years, and they have always been a tough out at home with how good they have been on that side of the ball. However, they have really struggled to cover spreads this season, and are now 0-4 ATS so far in 2023.
To make matters (potentially) worse, N.C. State head coach Dave Doeren is just 8-28 ATS versus excellent offensive teams who are averaging greater than 450 yards per game while coaching the Wolfpack. The Cardinals (2-2 ATS) have been known for their offense this season, putting up scores of 39, 56, 21 and 56.
Louisville -3 (-110, FanDuel)
While this is projected to be a close battle, it's clear that the Wolfpack have really struggled to contain great offenses over the years. If their defense can't play well against the Cardinals, I don't know if their offense has the stuff to keep up, even against a weak Louisville defense.
