QB Jaxson Dart has been the story of the Rebels so far, as he is off to a flaming hot start to the season. It was against weaker competition in Troy and Central Arkansas, but he has yet to play a full game as both wins were complete blowouts. The rushing combination of Zach Evans and Quinshon Judkins has been strong as well, and against a Georgia Tech team that really struggles to score, that could be the clincher.
Nothing that the Yellow Jackets bring to the table should be too much for Ole Miss to handle, although they do have to be careful on the road. History has not been kind to the Rebels in these situations, and they need to buck history and get the job done to move to 3-0 on the year with no hiccups.
The Yellow Jackets haven't looked very good to start the 2022 campaign, but that was to be expected. They looked decent to start their season in the opening night showdown with the Clemson Tigers, however, Dabo Swinney's team proved to be too much for the Jackets as the Tigers ran away with a 41-10 victory. Georgia Tech followed up that performance with a 35-17 victory over Western Carolina last weekend, but even though they won the game, they didn't look dominant as they were 24-point favorites for the contest and failed to cover the number.
This is a team that had higher expectations than what they have received so far, and I feel like it will be another disappointing season for the Yellow Jackets. This program needs change in order to get back to winning football games.
While Ole Miss has yet to play real competition, you can only beat what's in front of you and the Rebels have done just that. They have destroyed their competition so far, and there is no reason to believe they won't continue winning here. The Yellow Jackets stayed in the game for almost three full quarters against Clemson in week one, however, the Tigers overwhelmed Tech in the latter half of the second half. I feel like that could happen here.
Give me Ole Miss -16.5.
