College Football Player Prop Picks For Week 8

Iowa QB Deacon Hill Over 0.5 Passing TD vs. Minnesota (-110, DraftKings)

I know that this Minnesota-Iowa game is going to be disgusting and low-scoring, but all we need is one touchdown pass from Iowa’s QB at -110. He’s gone this in two of his last three games (against Purdue and Michigan State) and will now face a Minnesota defense that has allowed 37 points (and four passing touchdowns) to Northwestern, 24 points (and two passing touchdowns) to Louisiana and then 52 points (and a passing touchdown) to Michigan over the last three weeks.

Penn State QB Drew Allar Under 0.5 Interceptions at Ohio State (+107, BetRivers)

This PSU offense runs through running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen and I expect that to continue in this epic Big Ten matchup. Allar has 12 passing touchdowns and no interceptions so far this season and while this is a different class of opponent, I expect another strong performance from the sophomore star.

Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen Over 99.5 Rushing Yards at Illinois (+100, BetRivers)

With Chez Mellusi out for the rest of the season, this is Allen’s backfield. While he had 87 rushing yards against a stout Iowa defense last week, he had 116 and then 101-yard outings in the previous two contests against Purdue and Rutgers. Illinois has allowed an average of 164.1 rushing yards per game this season, which ranks 99th out of 133 FBS teams.

Texas RB Jonathon Brooks Over 106.5 Rushing Yards at Houston (-113, BetRivers)

Houston has allowed 162.2 rushing yards per contest, which ranks 95th in the FBS. Since taking over the RB1 role for Texas, Brooks has been insane, racking up 164, 106, 218 and 129 rushing yards. There’s no reason to assume that he’s going to slow down in this matchup.

Clemson RB Will Shipley Anytime TD at Miami FL (-160, DraftKings)

Shipley has found the endzone in three consecutive games and this Miami defense just got absolutely embarrassed by North Carolina RB Omarion Hampton (24 rushes, 197 yards, TD) and the Tar Heels’ rushing attack (235 yards) last week.

Oregon WR Troy Franklin Over 96.5 Receiving Yards vs. Washington State (-115, DraftKings)

Franklin has been one of the most productive wideouts in college football this season, racking up 106, 103, 83, 126, 117 and 154 yards in his six games played (to go along with eight touchdowns). This Washington State team just lost to Arizona 44-6 at home last week and allowed 342 passing yards. Bo Nix should be able to find Franklin all game long for another huge outing.

How To Bet College Football Props

Betting on college football props, or proposition bets, can add an extra level of excitement to your college football betting experience. Here's a general guide on how to bet on college football props:

Find a Reputable Sportsbook: Start by selecting a reputable and reliable sportsbook that offers a variety of college football prop bets. Ensure that the sportsbook is licensed and regulated to ensure the security of your funds and fairness in betting.

Research and Identify Prop Bets: Take the time to research and explore the prop bets available for college football games. Sportsbooks typically offer a wide range of prop bets, including player-specific props (e.g., total passing yards, touchdowns scored), team props (e.g., total points scored in a quarter), and game props (e.g., coin toss outcome, first team to score).

Analyze Statistics and Trends: Before placing your prop bets, analyze relevant statistics and trends related to the specific prop you are considering. Examine player and team performance, recent form, head-to-head matchups, and other factors that may influence the outcome of the prop bet.

Understand the Odds and Payouts: Each prop bet will have specific odds assigned to it by the sportsbook. Odds represent the potential payout for a correct prediction. Make sure you understand how odds work, whether they are presented as fractional, decimal, or American odds, and calculate the potential payout based on your wager amount.

Place Your Bets: Once you have chosen the prop bets you want to wager on, navigate to the sportsbook's betting interface and enter your desired wager amount for each prop. Double-check your selections and wager amounts before confirming your bets.

Monitor the Results: Follow the college football games closely to track the progress and outcome of your prop bets. Some prop bets may be settled quickly, while others may require the full game duration. Be patient and wait for the results to be determined.

Manage Your Bankroll: As with any form of gambling, it's important to practice responsible bankroll management. Set a budget for your prop betting activities, wager only what you can afford to lose, and avoid chasing losses by betting more than you initially planned.

Remember that prop bets are often based on specific events or occurrences within a game, and they may carry higher levels of unpredictability compared to traditional point spread or moneyline bets. Conduct thorough research, use your knowledge of the game, and exercise good judgment when selecting and placing your prop bets in college football.
