No. 3 TCU vs. No. 2 Michigan

ATS Record: TCU 9-3-1, Michigan 8-5

O/U Record: TCU 7-6, Michigan 4-8-1

Despite losing the Big 12 Championship game, TCU managed to reach the College Football Playoff. It’s been quite a first season with the Horned Frogs for Sonny Dykes. TCU emerged from a balanced Big 12 with an undefeated record during the regular season. However, they were rarely dominant, as just two of their nine conference wins came by more than 10 points.

Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines are in the CFP for the second straight season. They’ve won back-to-back Big Ten championships and are 25-2 over their last two seasons. Perhaps more importantly, after a few close games early in the Big Ten season, the Wolverines have won seven of their last eight games by at least 21 points, including wins over Ohio State and Purdue in the Big Ten Championship game, so Michigan is firing on all cylinders right now.

No. 4 Ohio State vs. No. 1 Georgia

ATS Record: Ohio State 5-6-1, Georgia 7-6

O/U Record: Ohio State 9-3, Georgia 5-8

The Bulldogs are just two wins away from winning back-to-back national championships and are the clear favorites heading into the College Football Playoff. Last year’s SEC Championship game is the only game that Georgia has lost in the team’s last 32. While the Bulldogs have failed to cover the spread in two of their last three games, they beat LSU by 20 points in the SEC Championship. Notably, Georgia is 18-5 ATS under Kirby Smart when failing to cover twice in a three-game span. Georgia is also 32-15 ATS against teams with a winning record.

As for the Buckeyes, the Peach Bowl will be their first game since losing to Michigan at home, 45-23. Including that loss, Ohio State went 1-4 ATS over the final five games of the regular season. However, they went 9-1 O/U over their last 10 games, becoming one of the safest bets with regard to hitting the over.
