Dan Karpuc: New Mexico State -2.5 at UMass
New Mexico State has covered the spread in three consecutive games and beat Hawaii and New Mexico outright in that span after starting the year 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS. Meanwhile, UMass’ only outright win this season came against FCS Stony Brook and the Minutemen have been outscored by an average of 26.2 points per game, the worst mark of all 131 FBS programs. Don’t get me wrong: both of these teams are very bad, but anytime I can get this line against a joke of a program like UMass, I’m going to take advantage. NM State put up 45 points against Hawaii a few weeks ago, so they should be able to move the ball against another terrible defense here. Give me the Aggies to win and cover.

Brad Pinkerton: Ohio State-Penn State Over 61
These teams are a combined 10-4 O/U this season despite facing some lofty totals (and some impotent offenses) on a weekly basis. The Buckeyes (5-2 O/U) have scored at least 45 points in six straight games, hitting the over in five straight, and even single-handedly forced Iowa -- Iowa -- over a total last week. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions (5-2 O/U) are averaging 33.4 points per game and, while their defense is solid, they will not be able to slow down Ohio State much in this one. Expect plenty of scoring early and often, making this 61 total look rather silly in the end.

Lucy Burdge: Ohio State -15.5 vs. Penn State
Ohio State has covered the spread in four of their last five games, and I think they’ll keep that spread-covering momentum going against Penn State this week. Penn State has also failed to cover the spread in their last four games, including in a 41-17 loss to Michigan as 7-point underdogs. Some trends in Ohio State’s favor are that Ryan Day is 11-1 in Weeks 5-9 while coaching Ohio State, so I think Ohio State can handle covering this huge spread as the favorite against Penn State.
