Dan Karpuc: Michigan -4.5
Despite the fact that Jim Harbaugh was suspended for six of Michigan’s 12 regular-season games, the Wolverines rallied behind acting coach Sherrone Moore, including down the stretch against Penn State, Maryland and Ohio State.
This team has an “it” factor, just beat Alabama in their biggest test of the year and has what I would call the nation’s top defense. Limiting Michael Penix Jr. is going to be a very tough task, but it’s worth mentioning that Texas’ pass defense was bad (and allowed six QBs to throw for 300-plus yards). Therefore, it’s not much of a shock that they got lit up.
With 16 sacks over their last four games, Michigan’s defensive line should be able to force Penix out of the pocket, where he really struggles. The Wolverines have also allowed just 150.0 passing yards per game this season, which ranked second-best in the nation. I expect the Wolverines to not only win this game, but win big.
Lucy Burdge: Michigan -4.5
I’ve liked Michigan to win the national championship throughout the season and now we’re here with them facing Washington and I see them not only beating the Huskies, but also covering this spread. Michigan has covered their last three spreads, and BetQL points out that Jim Harbaugh is 10-1 ATS vs. defenses allowing 250 or more passing yards per game while coaching Michigan. So I see Michigan taking down Washington and covering this spread.
Kate Constable: Washington +4.5
I’ve been one of Washington’s biggest backers all season, so I can’t stop now. The passing attack for the Huskies is the best in the nation and while Michigan’s secondary is far superior to that of Texas, Washington still has three NFL-caliber receivers for Michael Penix Jr. to choose from.
The downfall for the Huskies is their defense, which is the lowest-rated defense to play for a national championship since the CFP started. To combat that, Washington is going to need to play a fast-paced, high-possession game. The more scoring opportunities it has, the more it’s going to force Michigan to have to keep up.
Michigan is the more complete team, especially on the defensive end, and I think they win the game, but Washington can definitely stick within this number!
Brad Pinkerton: Game total even (+118, Caesars)
This is not a sexy pick by any means, but I'm struggling to find any value on the main lines in this game. The spread and total have barely budged all week. I want Washington to win, but I think Michigan will. So, instead, I'll take the value here on what is as close to a coin-flip as you're going to get in this game for solid plus-money. Boring, but value is value.
Brad Pinkerton: Middle on 1st Quarter total
Here's a good "middle" opportunity (try to hit both bets) on the first-quarter total if you have these books. In addition to line shopping, this is another great reason to have multiple books, so you can find these kinds of low-risk, high-reward opportunities:
1Q o10.5 points at BetMGM (-115)
1Q u13.5 points at FanDuel (-120)
Wager to win the same amount on both bets and you're only risking the juice on one bet for the chance to hit both with a total of 11-13 points (mostly likely 13). Let's go, Lucy 13!

College football model picks are predictions generated by BetQL's sophisticated statistical models and analyze a vast array of data points to forecast the outcomes of college football games. These models employ advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques to process and analyze historical data, team and player performance metrics, game-specific variables, and other relevant factors.
Unlike human experts, college football models are not influenced by biases, emotions, or personal opinions. They rely solely on the data and patterns they uncover during their analysis. These models can consider a wide range of variables simultaneously and identify complex relationships that may not be evident to the naked eye.
College football model picks are highly regarded for their ability to provide objective and data-driven insights. They can help fans, bettors, and analysts make informed decisions by identifying potential upsets, spotting undervalued teams, and estimating the likelihood of certain outcomes. These picks are often used as a valuable resource alongside expert opinions and personal analysis to enhance the accuracy of predictions and increase the chances of success.
It's important to note that while college football models can provide valuable predictions, they are not infallible. The dynamic nature of the sport, unexpected variables, and the inherent limitations of statistical modeling mean that upsets and unpredictable results can still occur. Therefore, it is advisable to treat model picks as a helpful tool in decision-making rather than as definitive guarantees. Conducting additional research, considering other factors, and exercising personal judgment remain important components of the decision-making process.
There are several types of college football bets that fans and bettors can engage in. Some of the common types include:
Point Spread Betting: This type of bet involves wagering on the point difference between the two teams at the end of a game. The favorite team is assigned a negative point spread, while the underdog team receives a positive point spread. For a bet on the favorite to be successful, they must win by a margin greater than the point spread. Conversely, a bet on the underdog will win if they win the game outright or lose by a margin less than the point spread.
Moneyline Betting: Moneyline bets involve wagering on the outright winner of a college football game, regardless of the point difference. The odds are assigned to each team, indicating the potential payout for a correct prediction. Favorites have negative odds, while underdogs have positive odds.
Over/Under Betting: This type of bet, also known as the total bet, involves predicting whether the total combined score of both teams will be over or under a specified number set by the sportsbook. Bettors can wager on whether the total points scored in a game will exceed or fall short of the set line.
Futures Betting: Futures bets are long-term wagers that focus on predicting outcomes that will occur at a later stage in the season, such as conference champions, national champions, or individual player awards. These bets are typically placed before the season begins and can offer substantial payouts if the prediction proves correct.
Parlay Betting: Parlay bets involve combining multiple individual bets into a single wager. To win a parlay bet, all individual selections within the parlay must be correct. Parlays offer the potential for higher payouts but are more challenging to win due to the increased number of correct predictions required.
Prop Betting: Proposition bets, or prop bets, are wagers on specific events or occurrences within a college football game that do not necessarily affect the final outcome. Examples include betting on which team will score first, the total number of touchdowns, or the performance of a particular player.
These are just a few of the many types of college football bets available. It's important to familiarize yourself with the specific rules and terms associated with each bet type and to exercise responsible gambling practices.
