Davidson (3-0 SU, 1-1 ATS, 2-0 O/U) holds a 111th KenPom rating and has beaten Guilford (87-64), Wright State (102-97) and VMI (75-71). Charleston (2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS, 3-0 O/U) is ranked 176th in KenPom’s ratings, but has the 10th-fastest Adjusted Tempo mark. Therefore, expect this game to play fast. Charleston has beaten Chattanooga (85-78), lost to No. 1 North Carolina (102-86) and beat Richmond (92-90) so far. Under Pat Kelsey, they’ve gone 12-2 SU after scoring 85 points or more in two consecutive games, so that trend is active in this one. Players to watch: Davidson guard Foster Loyer (28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists), Charleston sophomore guard Reyne Smith (18.7 points). My lean: over the total.
Nebraska (2-0 SU, 0-2 ATS, 1-1 O/U) checks in ranked 110th in KenPom’s all-encompassing efficiency rankings and beat both Maine (79-66) and Omaha (75-61) outright to start out the year, but failed to cover in both of those contests. St. John’s (3-0 SU, 1-2 ATS, 3-0 O/U) has a 42nd KenPom rating and the 5th Adjusted Tempo mark, so expect this team to push the pace. The Red Storm have beaten Merrimack (97-72), Lafayette (83-68) and Central Connecticut State (91-74) so far. Under head coach Mike Anderson, St. John’s has gone 14-6 SU in a home game where the total is in the 150s and 27-12 against the first-half spread as a home favorite. Players to watch: Nebraska senior guard Sam Griesel (20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists) and St. John’s senior forward David Jones (18.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists). My Lean: over the total.
Loyola Chicago (2-0 SU, 0-2 ATS, 1-1 O/U) comes in at 70th in KenPom’s ratings and won their games against Farleigh Dickinson (88-82) and University of Illinois at Chicago (70-63). Tulsa (1-1 SU, 0-1-1 ATS, 2-0 O/U) is ranked 160th in KenPom’s ratings after losing to Oregon State (73-70) in their opener and beating Jackson State (85-79) in their second contest. Under coach Eric Konkol, Tulsa has gone 40-23 ATS when the total is in the 130s and 56-33 ATS after a game in which they failed to cover the spread. Players to watch: Loyola senior forward Tom Welch (14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds), Tulsa junior guard Sam Griffin (19.0 points, 3.0 rebounds). My lean: Tulsa ATS.
