March Madness 2024: Final Four Sleepers To Watch

Every NCAA tournament sees plenty of big upsets during March Madness, and a team that no one expects to go anywhere goes on a deep run. It can be hard to predict which team is going to get hot and have that kind of luck on their side, but we know that it's going to happen.

Now is the time to start diving into futures markets in an effort to get some good value on some lower-seeded teams that could cash out large if they make the Final Four.

Texas A&M Aggies To Win The South Region (+3500, FanDuel)

I really hope you read this article before we updated it today. If you did, you have a +9500 ticket for the Aggies to make the Final Four. That has plummeted down to +3500 now after their fantastic performance in the SEC tournament, and while they didn't win, they showed you why I have been so high on this team all season long.

They have every ingredient that you would want in a team that can make a run, and if you have read my articles since the beginning of the season, you have some really valuable tickets on them right now.

It all starts with Wade Taylor IV, or Big Game Wade, as he is becoming known. He's one of the most prolific scoring guards in the country, and he showed up huge in the SEC tournament. He had 30 in their loss to Florida and had 32 in their upset victory over Kentucky. He's that sparkplug player that every Cinderella team needs to make a run, and he can go off for 40 points in any game against any team.

It also helps that Texas A&M is the best offensive-rebounding team in the country, which gives them extra possessions that can be so very valuable in the tournament.

McNeese State Cowboys To Win The Midwest Region (+10000, BetRivers)

There is a good chance that you have never even heard of McNeese State, as they play in the Southland Conference. I'm here to tell you that they are one of the best teams in the country, going an incredible 30-3 this season with a ridiculous 17-1 conference record. I also know what you are thinking right now, which is "They play in a garbage conference against scrubs, their record doesn't matter because they don't play anyone." While it's true that the Southland does kinda stink, it also has a history of massive upsets in the NCAA tourney. The most recent one was Abilene Christian's tournament debut in a massive upset of a very good Texas Longhorns team in 2021.

The Cowboys also have several wins this year over some very good teams like UAB, VCU and even beat Michigan in Ann Arbor to show they can take down a Power 5 team. Their only three losses came by single digits, two of the three by a single score. McNeese also has some fantastic guard play, which I have constantly hit on as one of the most important things to have in any tournament. Leading scorer Shahada Wells could be the next big name you hear about this March, and 75/1 is a great value on this team.

They get Gonzaga in the first game, a team that has looked overrated all season. This isn't the same Bulldogs team that we have become accustomed to over the last five years, and they can certainly lose in Round 1.

Grand Canyon Antelopes To Win The West Region (+7500, DraftKings)

This is the wild, wild West region, where I think that just about anyone has a chance to win here. There isn't a team in this region that I think is so good that they can't possibly lose to their competition, so it's wide open, in my opinion. Arizona, North Carolina, Baylor and Alabama are the favorites, but I don't know how you can trust any of those teams since they were all upset in their conference tourneys. My favorite team to come out of this region is Clemson at a decent 21/1 number, but if you want a longshot sleeper pick here, I like Grand Canyon as a team that could make some noise.

They get Saint Mary's as their first opponent, a team that constantly gets a lot of people to bet on them every year in the NCAA tournament. They almost always get ousted early and let everyone down, and are just -5.5 favorites here against the Antelopes in the first game. Grand Canyon went an insane 29-4 this season and destroyed their competition in the WAC tournament while finishing with a 17-3 conference record.

They also have some great guard play, with Tyon Grant-Foster as someone that you need to be paying attention to as the next possible name for a Cinderella team. He's averaging 19.8 points per game and has scored 20+ in four of his last five games, coming up huge for the Antelopes.

Drake Bulldogs To Win The East Region (+5000, BetMGM)

This is the gauntlet region, with some of the best teams in the nation all grouped in what should be an absolute dogfight to make it out. UConn leads the pack, but the Huskies will have to tussle with Iowa State, Illinois and Auburn at the top. Last year's surprising runner-up, San Diego State, is here too, as well as Cinderella FAU.

One team that has a real shot to be this year's crazy team that upsets one of these goliaths is Drake, which has been on the precipice of breaking through for several years now. The Missouri Valley Conference is infamous for its Cinderella teams, with eight huge upsets of top-ranked teams since the start of the 21st century. Loyola Chicago is easily the most famous for their insane upsets and Final Four run, but we also can't forget that Northern Iowa took down 1-seed Kansas as well. Almost every year, an MVC team wins in the first round.

Drake has been very close to its own upsets and almost beat Miami, an eventual Final Four team, last year. This Bulldogs team is statistically even better than that one, with a top-40 offense on KenPom and some impressive wins under its belt. They beat Oakland, Akron, Nevada and swept the season series with a very good Indiana State team. They also have some incredible guard play, with their leading scorer averaging 21.8 in the backcourt.
