Dan Karpuc: UConn To Win NCAA Championship (+2000, BetMGM)
Note: I’ve been a UConn fan since birth, so take what I’m about to write with that in mind. The Huskies might be better than they were last season. Despite losing Adama Sanogo, Andre Jackson and Jordan Hawkins to the NBA, as well as Naheim Alleyne (transfer) and Joey Calcaterra (graduation), this team is going to be loaded with talent as coach Dan Hurley and his staff restocked and will develop returning players. At the top of the list of returning players are 7’2 big man Donovan Clingan (who will be in the running for the Wooden Award in my opinion), Tristen Newton, Alex Karaban, and Hassan Diarra. However, what makes me most excited is the fact that this program is bringing in the No. 6 recruiting class in college basketball, per 247 Sports. Names to watch: guard Stephon Castle (Big East Freshman Of The Year frontrunner), guard Solomon Ball, wing Jayden Ross and center Youssouf Singare. Only Oklahoma State (1945 and 1946), San Francisco (1955 and 1956), Cincinnati (1961 and 1962) and Florida (2006 and 2007) have repeated as NCAA champions, but I think the Huskies will add their school to that small list.

This year's national champion UConn is not the favorite currently to repeat and the team is seeing some changes in the roster. Forward Richie Springs has entered the transfer portal and Adama Sanogo, Jordan Hawkins and Andre Jackson are entering the NBA Draft. Jackson was the captain of the team and will retain his college eligibility, so the odds for UConn here will certainly be something to keep and eye on. The Huskies would be my favorite bet right now to win repeat, especially with some added value here at +1600.
As for Duke and their +1100 odds, they've had a bit of roster movement as well. Jeremy Roach, Dariq Whitehead and Dereck Lively II announced that they will declare for the NBA Draft, but Roach will retain his college eligibility. While center Kyle Filipowski will be returning and the team's November signee, Mackenzie Mgbako, is reopening his recruiting and has requested a release from his letter of intent. That is kind of a bummer, but forward Mark Mitchell announced that he will be returning next season.
Kansas has leap-frogged Duke by a little bit here and got some good news about coach Bill Self, who will be returning to the team following his health scare that held him out of the 2023 tournament. Their season didn't end in a title but they still had a successful 2023 season. They finished first in the Big 12 in the regular season and qualified for the NCAA tournament but lost in the 2nd round.
And when it comes to Kentucky, Ugonna Onyenso announced he will be returning to the team after removing his name from the transfer portal. Meanwhile, Chris Livingston announced he is declaring for the NBA Draft. Kentucky finished in third place in the Southeastern conference this season and will certainly be looking to have an even bigger season next year. And their odds have moved quite a bit from opening as one of the favorites to now finding themselves at +1400.

When looking to place a future bet on any sport, the very first thing you have to be looking for is value at the current number that is listed in sportsbooks. Is a team more or less likely to win this bet than the current number says? The same is true when you are looking into placing a bet on the CBB Championship winner. College basketball, and especially March Madness, is one of the most wagered-on sports in America. As such, the lines for this sport are going to be super sharp, and it will be very difficult for the average bettor to find value in the listed lines at most sportsbooks. The good news is that you have a team of experts here at BetQL that are combing through these odds every day, looking for the best value possible in every market.
Lines are moving and changing all the time with the money that is coming into sportsbooks, and when that happens, new opportunities open up and close down. Getting the best of the number is imperative when looking to make a long-term profit in sports betting, as well as factoring into any money management system. In this article, our experts will give you their latest best bets throughout the season at the best number available, so you will always have some value waiting at your fingertips for the CBB Championship.
BetQL is the place you go to for CBB Championship bets, but we also have plenty of other services besides value bets on futures. We have the most advanced CBB model with a proven track record of winners to get you swimming in the green by the time the season comes to a finish. The BetQL CBB model will have you covered every day of the season, and every game of the season, with the best bets available on the market right now. It shows you the price of each bet and where to place it at the best price, so you always will get the most value out of every wager you place.
The BetQL CBB model ranks bets based on a "star-scale" platform, which rates each bet 1-5 stars based on how valuable the wager is. A 1-star bet tells you to stay away, and that there is no value there at the current number, while the higher you go on the scale means more value is to be had. A 5-star bet is the most valuable wager we have, and we would recommend putting a unit on that particular wager. BetQL encourages a wager on 3-star and higher bets, with 3-star being a smaller bet and 5-star being a larger one. We have bets on the spread, total, moneyline and 1st-half of every CBB game, so make sure to check it out as the lines change!
College basketball's national championship has always been one of the biggest spectacles in the sports world, and we have had some fantastic matchups over the years. This past season, we saw UConn's dominance over everyone in the field, culminating with a blowout win over San Diego State and Adama Sanogo winning MVP. In 2021, Kansas took out North Carolina 72-69 in a thriller led by Ochai Agbaji. 2020 saw Baylor claim the title over Mark Few and Gonzaga 86-70, with Jared Butler winning MVP honors. Of course, we had the Covid year in 2019 that cancelled the tournament that season.
In 2018, Virgina defeated Texas Tech in overtime 85-77 led by Kyle Guy and that stingy defesne. Villanova's dominant 2017 season ended with a 79-62 championship win over Michigan, with Donte DiVincenzo winning MVP. 2016's champion North Carolina was led by Joel Berry ll in defeating Gonzaga 71-65.
BetQL will have you covered all season, leading up to these awesome championship games!
