Kentucky has really turned things around after hitting the panic button early this season. It’s won three of its last four games, including a five-point win over Florida on Feb. 4. I like the Gators to win again tonight, despite being on the road this time, because Florida is going to be without its star center Colin Castleton. Florida lost to Arkansas by 19 on Saturday without Castleton and, while I don’t expect that big of a win for the Wildcats, I do expect them to cover the -3. The last time these two teams met, Castleton had 25 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. His production is going to be sorely missed, especially when it comes to keeping Oscar Tshiebwe off the glass. Tshiebwe had 15 boards against them and I would imagine Kentucky’s game plan is going to feature him in a big way tonight. The Wildcats could also use another Quad 1 road win to bolster their NCAA tournament resume, so a win tonight would be huge.
Fordham (21-6 SU, 17-10 ATS) has had an awesome season and has consistently exceeded expectations, unlike Loyola Chicago (9-17 SU, 8-18 ATS). Loyola Chicago has gone just 2-6 ATS in the last eight home games, while Fordham has gone 8-2 ATS in the last 10 overall contests. In other words: these two teams have been going in opposite directions and only the Rams have been a consistent, trustworthy program this season. Fordham is ranked 137th in KenPom’s rankings while Loyola Chicago is 251st, so that’s enough of a gap to make me feel extra comfortable.
Notre Dame has actually been putting up a fight lately, covering and narrowly losing its last two games at Duke and Virginia as a double-digit underdog in both. Meanwhile, UNC continues to spiral out of control, losing and failing to cover in five of its last six games. In fact, the Tar Heels are now just 2-10 ATS on the road after failing to cover in four straight away games, including a road loss in a must-win game at rival N.C. State last weekend. I question how much fight the Tar Heels have left and whether they're ready for a Fighting Irish team that's trying to send Mike Brey out on a positive note.
Providence has covered in six of its last eight and in 15 of its last 19. The Friars are also 7-4 ATS as the underdog, including 4-2 ATS as the road 'dogs. Plus, they are 14-5 ATS when coming off of a win and are coming off two straight wins. Providence has also covered in the last two meetings with UConn, including as a 5.5-point underdog in a 73-61 home win in January. So I like Providence to cover this spread tonight. This number is already down to +6.5 in most places, but you can still grab +7.5 at BetMGM if you act fast!
You can grab this at BetRivers right now for -110 odds, but many books have moved to just +2. Why is 7-21 Georgetown just a very small underdog to 16-12 Saint John’s? The line is also moving closer and closer to a pick ‘em, and I like where the money is going, so grab the Hoyas while there's still value.
