Long Beach State at USC Prediction

USC relies heavily on its defense, which is ranked in the top 50 in college basketball. They have a strong interior presence with a lot of height that will be tough for Long Beach State to score against. If the Beach isn’t able to find any success inside, scoring is likely going to come at a premium because they can’t make shots from deep to save their lives. Long Beach State is averaging just under five made 3s a game, which is the third-worst mark in college basketball. So, if they can’t score inside or outside, it’s going to be a long night for Long Beach. Take USC to cover.

My pick: USC -11.5

UCLA at Maryland Prediction

This is a reunion game for former Louisville assistants Mick Cronin and Kevin Willard. Cronin and the No. 16 Bruins will travel to College Park to take on No. 20 Maryland, which has lost its last two games. Both of those losses came on the road to quality opponents in No. 22 Wisconsin and No. 6 Tennessee. With the Terps back at the Xfinity Center, I like their chances of winning, so I'll take them on the moneyline.

Maryland does a lot of its scoring at the rim, where they'll have the advantage tonight over UCLA, which has struggled to defend down low. The Terps are also a really good offensive-rebounding team, so second-chance points should favor the home team tonight. On UCLA's side, part of what makes the Bruins so tough is their ability to light it up on the offensive end. However, Maryland has really lengthy, athletic defenders that will make it tough for UCLA to get good looks anywhere on the floor.

My pick: Maryland ML -120

Ohio at Florida Prediction

I expect this matchup between the Bobcats and Gators to be relatively high scoring, which is why I like the over. Despite only putting up 54 points against a very good UConn team, Florida's offense has been rolling to start the season. They are averaging nearly 80 points per game and shooting 48% on their home floor. They like to play fast and push the pace, which will give Ohio's defense some issues. The Bobcats have been suspect on defense, giving up 75.0 points per game on the road, but their offense is typically good for a number in the high 70s. Both teams also have a combined record of 8-5-1 to the over this season and I like that trend to continue in our favor tonight.

My pick: Ohio at Florida Over 143
