Kate Constable: Nets +260 (FanDuel) vs. Clippers

If I were the Brooklyn Nets, I would want to do anything I could to stick it to former Net Kyrie Irving. After everything Irving has put the organization through over the last two years, I’m sure there are many who are glad to see him gone. A win tonight in their first game since trading him to the Mavs yesterday would send a message to Irving that they can win without him. Whether or not that’s true long-term is yet to be seen, but it would undoubtedly feel pretty good tonight.

Dan Karpuc: Northern Colorado ML vs. Weber State

Northern Colorado (7-16) hosts Weber State (12-11) in a late ESPNU broadcast and there are a few reasons why I like the Bears in this one. First, Northern Colorado has three single-possession losses while Weber State has four single-possession wins. Therefore, it’s easy to see how these overall records could be pretty similar if those outcomes went the other way. Weber State ranks 287th out of 363 D-I teams in Offensive Efficiency, per KenPom, while Northern Colorado ranks 172nd in that regard. The Bears also rank 84th in Adjusted Tempo while the Wildcats rank 283rd. Since Northern Colorado will be playing at home, I expect them to control the pace and take Weber State out of their comfort zone. The last time these two teams played, Weber State earned a nine-point home win but went 22 of 26 from the free-throw line, while Northern Colorado was just 6-for-9. I don’t expect that to happen again tonight.

Yes, the Spurs are bad, but the Bulls continue to prove that they can struggle against even the worst teams. The Warriors have lost two of their last three games and are now without Steph Curry, so it's worth noting that Golden State is just 7-8 SU without Curry this season. Plus, the Thunder have won four of their last six road games, so I like the Thunder to get the upset win tonight.
