Celtics at Heat: Game 6 Best Bets

0-150. Coming back from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven NBA playoff series has NEVER been done. Yet the chatter surrounding the Boston Celtics becoming the first to ever pull off the feat has continued to get louder and louder after their Game 5 victory. I am here to be the grumpy librarian and tell everyone on that side to “SHHHHHHH!” I can not buy it. BetMGM Sportsbook currently has Boston listed as the 2.5 point favorite in Game 6 in South Beach, but here are my best bets for the game.

Best Bet #1: Heat +2.5

Regardless of what you think of either side here, I think 0-150 is a strong enough point to be made when figuring out how the rest of this series possibly plays out. Give Boston credit for winning two games in that position, its not easy -- but the story ends there. I am backing the better coach (Erik Spoelstra), the best player on the floor (Jimmy Butler), homecourt advantage in Miami and history. Take the Miami Heat +2.5. Or even better, take them to win outright at +120.

Best Bets #2 & #3: Butler o7.5 rebounds, Butler o5.5 assists

I typically pinpoint a role player or a “secondary” scorer when trying to find an edge betting NBA player props. Either that, or a specialist category such as blocks or steals. But if I am going to be as confident as I was in the first paragraph about the Heat winning Game 6, then the props have to start and end with Jimmy Butler, much like the entire Heat organization right now.  Here are two different player props I am betting on for Game 6 Saturday night: 

• Jimmy Butler o7.5 Rebounds (-115): In this series, Butler has recorded five, nine, eight, eight and five rebounds in the first five games, going over this number in three of the five. If we dig slightly deeper and look at the previous five before Boston, Butler has gone over 7.5 rebounds in seven of the last 10 games. When Butler has recorded over 7.5 rebounds, the Heat’s record in their last 10 games is 7-3. 
• Jimmy Butler o5.5 Assists (-160): This is slightly out of character for me personally, I don’t like the price at -160 for props typically. But I love the over here, so let's not overthink it. Jimmy has gone over in five of the last eight games, including three of the five games in this series. The two games he went under against Boston, Butler finished with five assists in both. I think Butler finishes with around eight assists in a closeout victory, so take the over here.
