Heat -4.5 vs. Nuggets (-110, BetMGM)
We have a rematch of the NBA Finals in Las Vegas tonight. Well, kind of. The Heat and Nuggets play each other in both teams' fourth Summer League game, but the rosters are going to look significantly different. The Nuggets are one of the worst teams in the tournament and don't seem to be too serious about winning. They are 0-3 so far and have struggled from deep, only shooting better than 28% on one occasion. Julian Strawther, Hunter Tyson, and Cassius Stanley are Denver's best players but Strawther is really the only player that has the ability to make a significant impact. The Nuggets roster just isn't very deep or talented with second-year player Christian Braun not participating in the tournament.
Miami is likely to be without both Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr. but unlike Denver, the Heat have a number of other players they can rely on. Orlando Robinson has been a scoring machine, finishing with 36 points against the Bucks, 15 against the Suns and 25 against the Celtics. Jamal Cain has also scored in double figures in all three games and Dru Smith has contributed nicely on the offensive end. Give me the Heat to get the win and cover -4.5 at BetMGM.
Celtics -2.5 vs. Knicks (-118, FanDuel)
The Knicks are typically a team that takes Summer League pretty seriously. That's not to say they're not taking it seriously this year, but their performance hasn't been very strong. New York is 1-2 with its only win coming in its most recent game against the Magic. However, Orlando has been awful so far, sitting at 0-3, yet, the Knicks need OT to knock them off 82-80. The Celtics are also 1-2, but they look a bit more similar to the Sixers and Nets who both cruised to easy wins over New York.
Jordan Walsh was extremely efficient for Boston in his last outing, finishing with 25 points on 20 shots against the Lakers. Celtics' forward Justin Champagnie went undrafted in 2021 but has strung together a few strong games with double digits, including 21 points against the Wizards. Boston's 2020 second-round pick Jay Scrubb has also been great off the bench with at least 15 points in all three games. Boston has a much better offense and I don't think the Nuggets are going to be able to keep up in the scoring department. This line is a bit too short, so I'll back the Celtics at -2.5 on FanDuel. You'll want to grab this quickly because it's already up to -3.5 at other places.
