76ers vs. Hawks Prediction

The Sixers are starting to find themselves finally after a rough start to the season. They lost James Harden to an injury but they have enough depth to keep things running. Tyrese Maxey has been a godsend for this team, absolutely exploding onto the scene and scoring a whopping 23.6 points per game for Philadelphia. The 76ers are 3-2 ATS and the total has gone 3-2 to the O/U in their last five games. I'll be interested to see how they deal with this Hawks team, as Atlanta is especially dangerous offensively.

Atlanta has been red-hot out of the gates this season. They beat the previously undefeated Milwaukee Bucks the other night without Trae Young, but with him, they are a juggernaut offensively. Young is putting up over 28 points per game and torching everyone from deep, and Philly has been vulnerable all season in that area.

MY PICK: I like the way both teams have been playing recently, but I think the Hawks have an advantage here at home. They play better defense at home and their offense has been hot against a questionable Philly D.

Mavericks vs. Wizards Prediction

I'll give it to the Wizards, they have been better than I expected this year, but they still have their problems. They really struggle on the offensive end, scoring just 107 points per game. That simply isn't going to cut it against Luka Doncic and the Mavericks tonight. Bradley Beal has done his best to carry them and granted, he has had more help than ever. They just need more, and the answer isn't there right now. The Wizards are 3-2 ATS in their last five games however, so they have been keeping things in the green for us.

Dallas has been having a much better time starting the year, and they have been one of my favorite teams to watch. It isn't just Doncic, but man, is he fun to watch. He's a stat-sheet stuffer, but he also is imperative to what Dallas is doing.

PICK: Dallas is just the far better team, and they should take care of business on the road. They have covered on the road, so I'm okay with taking them here ATS. Washington won't be able to keep up with their scoring.

Hornets vs. Heat Prediction

Both of these teams have struggled out of the gates, but Charlotte is the team I will be looking to fade the most. They haven't been the worst team, but they have been close to it. Without LaMelo Ball, the talent level is lacking against pretty much every other team in the NBA.

Miami has been very disappointing, and to some that may be a shock, but not really to me. This team was due for a bit of a regression, and it is here. Jimmy Butler has been on the down swing the last few years since their NBA Finals appearance, but he has still been productive, averaging 21 points per game. Bam Adebayo is having a good season, but they might be wanting a bit more from him. Kyle Lowry has really struggled scoring the ball like he used to, but again, he's 36 and regression is there. The Heat are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against the spread, so they have been losing their backers money lately.

MY PICK: Two teams that I'm not high on at all, but as I've been saying, we fade the Hornets around here. Miami is due to cover, and they are at home.
