The Philadelphia 76ers (32-16 SU, 27-20-1 ATS, 29-19 O/U) will look for their eighth-straight win tonight when they host the Orlando Magic (19-31 SU, 28-18-4 ATS, 26-24 O/U) tonight.
The Orlando Magic are playing their third game in four nights with quite a bit of travel mixed in. They played in Miami, then flew home, then back to Miami and are now in Philly for tonight’s game. Meanwhile, the Sixers have been home for their last two games and have been beating up on good teams. They’re coming off wins against the Nets and Nuggets and have covered the spread in four of their last five games. I expect Philly to beat Orlando by a wide margin tonight and cover the big number.
My Pick: 76ers -9.5
The Los Angeles Lakers (23-27 SU, 24-24-2 ATS, 27-23 O/U) are in The Big Apple tonight, taking on the Brooklyn Nets (30-19 SU, 25-24 ATS, 21-27-1 O/U).
The Lakers are coming off an emotional overtime game on Saturday in Boston and are now in Brooklyn to take on the Nets, who are still without Kevin Durant. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have both already been ruled out with this being the first game of a back-to-back for L.A. While the Lakers haven't been great again the spread without James in the lineup, I think this number is a little inflated, especially without Durant on the floor. The Nets also play the Celtics on Wednesday, so this feels like it could be a bit of a look-ahead spot.
My Picks: Lakers +9
The Golden State Warriors (25-24 SU, 23-25-1 ATS, 28-19-2 O/U) hit the road for a three-game road trip that kicks off tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder (24-24 SU, 31-17 ATS, 27-21 O/U).
The Warriors have struggled mightily on the road this season, going just 6-18 straight up and 8-16 against the spread. They’ve also struggled against some of the league’s bottom-tier teams this season, losing to the Magic and Pistons both twice, and the Hornets once. It’s a big deal for teams when the defending champs come into town, which is why I expect the Thunder to get up for this game and play Golden State close. Plus, the Thunder have been a great ATS team lately, covering in 10 of their last 11 games.
My pick: Thunder +5
