Clippers at Nets Prediction

The Brooklyn Nets (32-20 SU, 26-25-1 ATS, 23-28 O/U) and Los Angeles Clippers (30-26 SU, 29-27 ATS, 24-31 O/U) meet for the second and final time this season.

This is a longshot bet tonight, but if I were the Brooklyn Nets, I would want to do anything I could to stick it to Kyrie Irving. After everything Irving has put the organization through over the last two years, I’m sure there are many that are glad to see him gone. A win tonight in their first game since trading him to the Mavs yesterday would send a message to Irving that they can win without him. Whether or not that’s true long-term is still yet to be seen, but it would undoubtedly feel pretty good tonight. The Nets are big underdogs tonight with both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard healthy and in the lineup for the Clippers, but that makes for great value if Brooklyn is able to pull off the home win.

Mavericks at Jazz Prediction

The Utah Jazz (27-27 SU, 29-23-2 ATS, 30-22 O/U) welcome the Dallas Mavericks (28-26 SU, 19-32-3 ATS, 29-25 O/U) to town with the season series tied at one game apiece.

Not only are the Mavericks going to be without Luka Doncic tonight due to injury, but they’ll also be without Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith after dealing them to Brooklyn yesterday in Dallas’ trade for Kyrie Irving, who isn’t expected to make his Mavs debut until Wednesday. This makes Dallas extremely shorthanded tonight against a Jazz team that has been solid at home this season. The Jazz are 6-4 ATS at home over their last 10 games and they beat the Mavs by eight in Utah less than two weeks ago.

My Pick: Jazz -9.5

Kings at Rockets Prediction

Both the Sacramento Kings (29-23 SU, 29-23 ATS, 23-28 O/U) and Houston Rockets (13-40 SU, 20-29-4 ATS, 25-28 O/U) are looking for a win tonight after dropping their last two games.

The Kings are on a back-to-back after losing to the Pelicans yesterday on the road and now traveling to Houston for tonight's matchup. This is the first of a two-game mini-series with the Rockets as both teams will meet again on Wednesday. Sacramento's defense was awful last night when they allowed New Orleans to shoot over 50% from the field and from deep. Meanwhile, the Kings only shot 26.2% from three, which is what led to their 32-point loss. With that game getting so far out of reach for Sacramento, none of their starters played more than 29 minutes, so fatigue shouldn't be too much of a factor for them tonight. The Kings have also beaten the Rockets by 20 and 25 in their two meetings this season, so I'll happily lay 5.5 points in what I expect to be a bounce-back game for the road team.
