The Miami Heat (32-29 SU, 21-38-2 ATS, 27-33 O/U) and the Philadelphia 76ers (39-20 SU, 35-24 AS, 34-25 O/U) meet tonight for the first time this season.
What’s happened to the Miami Heat lately? They’ve lost their last four games and have failed to cover in each of them. That includes going 0-2 since the All-Star break with a 29-point loss to the Bucks and a loss to a bad Hornets team. Both of those games were on the road and that continues tonight with them playing in Philly. I think the Sixers come into this game with a little added motivation after a heartbreaking loss to the Celtics on Saturday. This is also the first time these two teams have met since Miami knocked Philly out of the Eastern Conference semifinals last season. I expect the Sixers to be hungry for revenge tonight, so I’ll lay the -6 with the home team. Grab this at -6 at Caesars before it goes up!
My Pick: 76ers -6
The New Orleans Pelicans (30-31 SU, 28-32-1 ATS, 33-28 O/U) welcome the Orlando Magic (25-38 SU, 33-27-1 ATS, 28-32 O/U) to town as they try to even the season series at one game apiece.
The Pelicans are another team that has been somewhat of a mess lately. They've lost their last three games and four of their last five. Their offense ranks 26th over their last five games, while their defense is just 19th. Orlando isn't exactly a great team, but it has been playing a better brand of basketball lately, especially on defense, where it is a top-five team over the last few weeks. They have also had quite a bit of success against New Orleans in the past. The Magic beat the Pelicans by 13 a month ago and are 5-0 ATS in their last five meetings in New Orleans. Plus, this is our BetQL model's favorite NBA play of the day, coming in as a ⭐⭐ ⭐⭐ pick.
My Pick: Magic +4
The Boston Celtics (44-17 SU, 32-27-2 ATS, 29-29 O/U) head to Madison Square Garden tonight to take on a New York Knicks (35-27 SU, 33-26-3 ATS, 33-28 O/U) team that is sporting a five-game winning streak.
I'm not sure I trust the Knicks to cover +2.5 at home, where they are one of the worst ATS teams in the league, so I'm going to target them in the first quarter at +0.5. They've won the first quarter in four of their last five games and have been up by an average of 8.2 points in those games. Meanwhile, the Celtics are coming off of a hard-fought win at Philadelphia on Saturday and could be in for a slow start tonight. Boston is also just 3-7 ATS in the first quarter in its last 10 road games. Take New York early in this one!
My pick: Knicks 1Q +0.5
