Dan Karpuc: Celtics -4.5 at Bulls
As I wrote in today’s NBA Playbook, all signs point to the Celtics winning and covering. They’ve averaged 121.0 points per game on 52% shooting (second-best) and own the best Offensive Rating (124.3) in the NBA. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are thriving and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart has been amazing on the other end of the floor. In 147 individual defensive possessions, he’s held James Harden, Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, P.J. Tucker, Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, Franz Wagner, Cole Anthony and Paolo Banchero to a combined 14 total points. Good luck to Zach Lavine, who will see a heavy dose of Smart in this matchup.

Meanwhile, it’s been the same deal as last year for the Bulls. DeMar DeRozan (27.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists), LaVine (23.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists) and Nikola Vucevic (18.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists) can all be relied on, but this team is going to struggle to consistently generate points outside of those guys. So far, they’ve averaged 104.0 points per game on 36.0 points in the paint (worst), 6.7 fast-break points (worst) and the league’s second-worst Offensive Rating. The Bulls have allowed their opponents to shoot a league-high 51.4% from the field and it’s tough to imagine this Celtics offense not being able to do whatever they want on that end of the floor. Meanwhile, Chicago doesn’t have enough firepower on the other end of the court to compete with this deep Celtics club.

Brad Pinkerton: Raptors +3.5 at Heat

Déjà vu with a rematch of Saturday's heated contest, which Miami won, 112-109, but failed to cover -3.5. In fact, the Heat have yet to cover this season (0-3), including an 0-2 mark as home favorites. With both teams starting the season a little sluggish on offense, I'm expecting another tight game and Toronto (2-1 ATS) to be in great position to get revenge for Saturday's loss. Keep an eye on the status of Raptors F Scottie Barnes (ankle), though Precious Achiuwa has shown he can produce in Barnes' absence.

Lucy Burdge: Knicks -7.5 vs. Magic
The Knicks have covered the spread in both of their games and I think they’ll make it three in a row against the Magic (0-3 SU, 1-2 ATS). New York is coming off a covered 7-point spread as the favorite against the Pistons and they covered a 4.5-point spread as the underdog against the Grizzlies. The Magic scored 120 points in their last game and they still couldn’t get the win, while the Knicks scored 130 in their last win. With the Knicks’ momentum and the Magic’s iffy defense, I see the Knicks covering this spread against Orlando.
