Kate Constable: Jazz-9.5 vs. Mavs

Not only are the Mavericks going to be without Luka Doncic tonight, but they’ll also be without Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith after dealing them to Brooklyn yesterday in Dallas’ trade for Kyrie Irving, who isn’t expected to make his Mavs debut until Wednesday. This makes Dallas extremely shorthanded tonight against a Jazz team that has been solid at home this season.

Dan Karpuc: Jazz -9.5 vs. Mavericks

Dallas may have made the splashiest trade of the season when it acquired Kyrie Irving from the Nets on Sunday, but they’ll be without him, Luka Doncic and others Monday. Since they also traded away Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith, this team is going to be very shorthanded, so don’t be surprised to see a starting five of Tim Hardaway Jr., Reggie Bullock, Dwight Powell, Josh Green and Jaden Hardy with guys like McKinley Wright IV, A.J. Lawson, Theo Pinson and Frank Ntilikina off the bench. Gross.

The Jazz have gone 19-7 ATS when playing against teams with winning records this season and have covered in three of their last four home games. Meanwhile, the Mavs have gone an abysmal 9-17 SU (9-17 ATS) on the road and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as a road underdog. I expect Utah to take care of business and win by double digits.

Lucy Burdge: Celtics -10.5 at Pistons

I’m going to take the plunge when it comes to taking the Celtics to cover the spread when they go up against the Pistons tonight. The Pistons are just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games and have failed to cover in five of their last six home games. The Celtics have also covered the spread twice against the Pistons already, having beaten them by 16 in one of those, so I like the Celtics to cover this spread tonight.
