Summer League continues with action on Tuesday night including the Washington Wizards making their debut in Las Vegas against the Sacramento Kings.
The Wizards had their Summer League debut delayed due to COVID-19 Protocols, but they are set to play on Tuesday night, as first reported by BetMGM Tonight's Quinton Mayo. How should we bet this given what we saw from the Kings on Monday night?
The Kings’ backcourt was fantastic in the opening game against Charlotte, an 80-70 victory.
No. 9 pick Davion MItchell was a two-way terror, locking up James Bouknight on one end and dishing out nine assists on the other. Meanwhile, second year guard Jahmi’us Ramsey scored a game high 22 points.
This Kings team is well constructed for Summer League with those two in the backcourt and a rim runner like rookie Neemias Queta to finish lobs and alter shots at the rim. Louis King has some NBA experience at forward as well.
Mitchell’s ability to lockdown the opposing team’s lead ball handler but also integrate his teammates is a massive plus for this Kings team.
Sacramento is also due for some three-point regression after hitting only 23% of their three-point attempts in Monday's game.

It’s somewhat of a mystery as to who will be on the Wizards roster. Forward Kyree Walker was sent home due to COVID-19 Protocols, and three more players entered the Health & Safety Protocols as well: Cassius Winston, Isaiah Todd, and Issuf Sanon.
Even if all three are cleared, this roster lacks the playmaking that Mitchell and Ramsey bring to the floor for Sacramento. Without Winston, a lot of pressure will fall on former Arkansas guard Mason Jones that is above his level.
Washington’s first round pick Corey Kispert may be able to get some clean looks from three, but Sacramento’s offense should run much more smoothly with Mitchell working as the lead ball handler.
This line is factoring in that the Kings may have some heavy legs on a back-to-back, but I don’t see that as an issue for this roster. Meanwhile, Washington might be severely shorthanded as well as out of rhythm given the past few days. Even at full strength, I still give the edge to the Kings roster.
All in all, the Kings have the better roster and may put together a run at Summer League, I’d lay this up to -2.5.
Pick: Kings -1.5
