Trail Blazers Injuries
Player Image
C.J. McCollumPOR | SG
Plays through fracture in lower back
The injury was not revealed until after Tuesday night's thrilling win over the Mavericks, but McCollum has reportedly been dealing with the fracture -- a vertebral transverse process fracture -- since Thursday. The guard struggled from the floor Tuesday night, hitting only 2-of-14 field goal attempts, but he knocked down a pair of free throws late in the fourth quarter to put the Blazers ahead by three with 3.9 seconds remaining.

Trevor ArizaPOR | SF
Won't play in Orlando
Ariza is involved in a custody case regarding his 12-year-old son and has been granted a visitation window that overlaps with the league's return-to-play plan. As such, Ariza will not join the Trail Blazers in Orlando, leaving the team without one of its best two-way players. Ariza joined the Trail Blazers in late January after beginning the season in Sacramento.

Caleb SwaniganPOR | PF
Won't play in season restart
Swanigan joins Trevor Ariza as the first two Portland players to opt out of the season's resumption. He figured to have an extremely small role with the team given the available frontcourt depth, which includes Jusuf Nurkic, Hassan Whiteside, Zach Collins and Carmelo Anthony.

Pau GasolPOR | C
Will decide on future in fall
Gasol hasn't played in a competitive NBA game since March 2019, when he was a member of the Bucks. He signed with Portland last summer but never appeared for the club before being released in November after he was a slow to bounce back from the foot procedure he required last May. The 39-year-old center seems to have turned a corner over the past few months, though he noted that he has yet to resume running or jumping. If his foot cooperates well once he's cleared for full on-court activities, Gasol said he'll attempt to play one final season in the NBA or in his native Spain. With the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo having been postponed until 2021, Gasol is hopeful to get through the 2020-21 season healthy enough to give himself "a chance" at representing his home country one last time on the international stage.

Rodney HoodPOR
Progresses to explosive workouts
Hood posted a video on Instagram of him doing a quick-feet sidestep exercise using a Bosu ball. Considering the explosiveness needed for the workout and how much it relates to basketball, it's an encouraging sign that Hood could take the court for drills again soon. Hood has a player option for 2020-21 worth just over $6 million and averaged 11.0 points on 8.2 shots this season before suffering a torn Achilles.

Celtics Injuries
Player Image
Daniel TheisBOS | C
Out Thursday
Theis is one of several Celtics regulars who will get a breather Thursday as the team finishes up seeding play. Expect Robert Williams to start in Theis' place and see extended minutes, with Enes Kanter and Tacko Fall available off the bench.

Kemba WalkerBOS | PG
Out vs. Wiz
The Celtics are resting their top six players in the final seeding game, as to not take any chances as the playoffs approach. Walker is coming off of a 19-point, four-rebound, three-assist outing in 28 minutes Tuesday against Memphis.

Not playing Thursday
Hayward is one of six key players off for the Celtics' seeding game finale. Plenty of deep bench options should see run, including Grant Williams, Romeo Langford and Semi Ojeleye on the wing.

Resting Thursday
Brown is one of six key players not taking the court for Boston in the seeding game finale. Plenty of deep bench players should see extended run, including Tremont Waters, Javonte Green, Carson Edwards and Brad Wanamaker in the backcourt.
