The MLB season is coming down to the wire and the MVP races in both leagues are heating up. Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is the huge favorite to win the AL MVP, but at -4000 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook, he offers little to no value for bettors.
Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is well behind Ohtani in odds to win the AL MVP. Entering Friday, he's +850 at DraftKings, +950 at FanDuel and even +1000 at Caesars. There is value to be had on those odds for a potential Triple Crown winner.
The Blue Jays star has 45 home runs this season, tied with Salvador Perez for tops in baseball and one ahead of Ohtani, entering Friday. He also leads the AL with a .317 average among qualified hitters and is nine RBIs off the league lead. He also leads the league in hits with 173.
Guerrero has 10 home runs in his last 30 games and eight hits in his last seven games. The guy is a powerhouse at the plate and finishing strong.

It was reported on Thursday that Ohtani has a sore arm and it’s possible he won’t pitch again this season.
"If there's any kind of lingering soreness, you may not see him pitch," Angels manager Joe Maddon told the media on Thursday.
And that sore arm could also affect his performance at the plate, or keep him out of the lineup entirely for an Angels team 10 games out of the wild-card race. A slump or absence for Ohtani could open the door for Guerrero to sneak ahead in votes for AL MVP. Especially if he stays hot and wins the Triple Crown.
I’m putting money on Guerrero’s odds to win the AL MVP with the value.
