Reds ML vs. Cubs ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (+115, Bet365 & WynnBet)
Today, the BetQL model is giving us a great plus-money bet on the Cincinnati Reds to take care of business at home against the Chicago Cubs as a 5-star value. Let’s be real here, neither one of these teams is that great, although the Cubs came into the season with some sleeper potential. They have underwhelmed so far to say the least, starting the season 1-3 after taking a loss yesterday to this same Reds club. Meanwhile, the opposite can be said for Cincy, which has jumped out to a 3-1 start to the year.
The Cubs will be sending out young hurler Hayden Wesneski to the mound in this one, and he was great in his limited appearances on the hill in 2022, going 3-2 with a 2.18 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 33 innings of work. He took on the Reds twice last year, going 1-1 with a 0.82 ERA in 11 innings against them.
The Reds will look to veteran Luis Cessa to shut down the Cubbies today. Cessa is a relief pitcher that was forced into a starters role last season due to injuries, and it wasn’t very pretty for the 30-year-old. He finished 2022 with a 4.57 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 80.2 innings pitched. Against the Cubs, he had a massive 5.14 ERA in 14 innings of work, allowing 10 hits and three homers in that span.
Diamondbacks SP Zac Gallen o1.5 ER vs. Padres (-155, DraftKings)
I like Gallen a lot, and he has been a great pitcher over the past few years, but he faces a tough matchup today in San Diego. The Padres are looking to get to .500, and their bats seem to have awakened after a sluggish start. They have one of the best lineups in all of baseball, and if they put things together, they are very dangerous.
Meanwhile, Gallen was lit up like a Christmas tree in his first game against the Dodgers, who also have an elite lineup. He went just 4.2 innings and allowed five ER on six hits with three walks. It was a terrible performance out of the Diamondbacks ace, and while I think he will bounce back this season, I don’t like this matchup for him on the road today. All he needs to do is give up two earned runs, and we cash.

Brad Pinkerton: Cardinals 1B Paul Goldschmidt to hit a HR (+320, FanDuel)
The Braves are trotting out lefty Dylan Dodd for his MLB debut, which is great news for this lefty-mashing Cardinals lineup, particularly Goldschmidt, who led MLB with an absurd .402 ISO against LHPs last season. At +320 on FanDuel, he's still a pretty good value (Nolan Arenado is down to just +285), and a great way to buy into the Braves-Cardinals game, which should feature plenty of homers to capitalize on FanDuel's Dinger Tuesday promo.
