Dodgers -1.5 vs. Nationals ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

With the Dodgers winning eight of their last nine games, they are clearly over their mini-slump from earlier this month and are one of the safest bets in baseball. That’s particularly true if they’re playing the Nationals, especially after a 10-1 dismantling of Washington on Monday night. The BetQL model is projecting a two-run win for the Dodgers on Tuesday, making this a five-star pick for both the moneyline and Los Angeles covering the spread.

The Dodgers should be in safe hands on Tuesday with Walker Buehler on the mound. He’s gotten the win in five of his eight starts this year with the Dodgers going 6-2 in his starts. Los Angeles also has the second-best ATS record in the majors, so when they win, they typically cover the spread. At the same time, the Nationals are the worst home team in the majors, going just 5-16 at Nationals Park this season, so all signs point to another easy win for the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Mike Trout HR vs. Rangers (+300 at DraftKings)

Trout hit a home run in his last game and he's hit three HRs in his last five. He has 12 total on the season and he's been extra hot lately with those three in recent games. Plus, Dane Dunning will be on the mound for the Rangers, and Trout has already hit two home runs off of Dunning this season. With this in mind, I'm looking very closely at Trout to hit a dinger in this game against Dunning and the Rangers. -- Lucy Burdge

TODAY'S MLB GAMES & BETTING TRENDS

After losing on Monday, the Rockies continue to be a disaster on the road, going 5-11 SU away from Coors Field. Of course, the Pirates are only 10-13 at home.

While they are still seven games under .500, the Cubs have a winning record on the road after taking the first game of this series on Monday. On the other hand, the Cubs have just one win this season in Marcus Stroman’s six starts.

Miami has been horrible against quality teams this year, going 5-16 SU against teams with a winning record. Even if we rewind the clock before this season, the Marlins have lost 12 straight games against teams from the AL East that have a winning record.

The Dodgers are red-hot again, winning eight of their last nine games and dominating in a 10-1 win over the Nats on Monday night. At the same time, the Nationals are just 31-66 (.320) SU under Dave Martinez when they are at home with a moneyline of +100 or greater. Most of those wins came in past years, as the Nationals are 3-14 SU as home underdogs this year.

The Orioles won Monday’s series opener against the Yankees after winning the series finale against the Yanks last week. Even though the Yankees have won 7 of the 11 head-to-head games between these teams this year, the Orioles are actually 6-5 ATS in those games.

The Phillies and Braves combined for 10 runs on Monday, which isn’t a surprise because these are two of the nine teams in the majors who have hit the over more than 50% of the time this season. Atlanta actually ranks second in the majors, going over the run line 59% of the time despite only averaging 3.9 runs per game.

The Wins might have a losing record ATS this year, but they are winners of five in a row and seven of their last eight games SU. They are also 9-1 SU when hosting one of their division rivals, including a perfect 4-0 at home against Detroit.

The Cardinals are starting to heat up with four straight wins whereas the Blue Jays have the second-worst ATS record in baseball at 17-25. However, the Cardinals haven’t had the best luck with Jordan Hicks this year, going just 3-5 in his starts, although the Blue Jays have lost Kevin Gausman’s last two starts.

Since getting swept by the White Sox earlier this month, the Red Sox have gone 9-3 and are currently riding a five-game winning streak. However, they still have a losing record and the White Sox are 14-10 SU this year against teams that are .500 or below. Plus, Chicago starter Dylan Cease is 17-7 over the last two years when facing a team with a losing record.

The Guardians won the series opener on Monday, dropping the previously red-hot Astros to just 5-5 over their last 10 games. However, the Astros have yet to lose back-to-back games during the stretch and are 10-5 SU coming off a loss this season.

The Angels are dead-even on the run line this year, going 20-20-3 O/U. Meanwhile, the Rangers have hit the under in their last nine road games against American League opponents, including all four games of their weekend series with the Astros with just 19 total runs being scored over four games.

San Diego is riding a five-game winning streak, making them 14 games over .500. The caveat is that Blake Snell didn’t look good in his first start of the season last week. But he and the Padres might catch a break with Milwaukee only batting .238 on the season and the Padres being 22-9 (.710) SU this year when facing a team batting .250 or worse.

The Diamondbacks can climb back above .500 with a win on Tuesday in addition to having the best ATS record in the majors at 27-17. Meanwhile, the Royals are riding a five-game losing streak and are just 6-12 SU on the road this year.

After Seattle’s 7-6 win in Monday’s series opener, the Mariners have now won 13 straight games against Oakland. They are also 7-4 SU this year when they’ve been favored at home.

The Mets won as road underdogs on Monday night, making them 5-1 ATS as an underdog this season. With the loss, San Francisco has lost five straight games and is now just 11-11 at home this season. The Giants are also riddled with injuries with Brandon Belt, LaMonte Wade, Austin Slater, and Steven Duggar all on the IL right now.
