Top Sleeper Picks And Best Bets For The 2024 3M Open

Matt Horner: Keith Mitchell To Win (+3300, BetRivers)

It is quite clear that Tony Finau should be the favorite in this event, and his odds reflect as such, as he is the favorite at every sportsbook. Most of the big names will be sitting this one out, and Finau is the best golfer in the field. If you want to bet him at 10/1 or so, I wouldn't have an issue with that. However, I am looking at some sleepers here.

Sam Burns and Sahith Theegala are right up there with Finau, as they should be, but I think Keith Mitchell should be closer to them than where he sits now on the odds board. Looking at some of his advanced statistics this season, he has actually been one of the best golfers in the field in 2024. He's 18th in total strokes gained, fourth in strokes gained off the tee, and sixth in strokes gained on approach to the green. Those are some extremely impressive numbers for a guy that many have never really heard of. He's really struggled with his putting, which has been his undoing, ranking 157th in strokes gained there.

At 33/1, I certainly think he is worth taking a flier on with his numbers, and he should be closer to 22/1 in my opinion.
