Odds to win the 2022 U.S Open

It’s time for the 122nd U.S. Open.

The tournament will be played June 16-19 at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. The field is made up of 156 players, including multiple past winners, dozens of major winners, and amateurs. Because of all this, the golfers have varying U.S. Open golf odds.

What is so unique about the U.S. Open is anyone meeting specific requirements has a chance to qualify through local and final qualifying.

In terms of the course, The Country Club is known for its tiny greens, and of course, the USGA will do what it can to make it as difficult as possible. This includes some very high rough as well as some challenging pin placements.

When it comes to U.S. Open golf betting, generally, only the top players end up winning, but anything can happen when a course plays difficult.

How Many Golfers are in the 2022 U.S. Open?

The field for the U.S. Open consists of 156 players, including defending champion Jon Rahm.

Best Odds to Win the 2022 U.S. Open

Rory McIlroy has the best odds to win the U.S. Open at +1100. Justin Thomas is next at +1200, followed by Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler, both at +1400.

Ranking All 156 Golfers in 2022 U.S. Open, Plus Vegas Betting Odds

1. Justin Thomas Odds to Win U.S. Open +1200

It’s hard not to put Thomas at the top after his PGA Championship performance. He’s also among the best ball-strikers on the PGA Tour, which will be key this week. With that said, he hasn’t had the greatest success at this tournament. His best finish is a T-8 coming in 2020.

2. Rory McIlroy Odds to Win U.S. Open +1100

McIlroy is playing some very solid golf of late but hasn’t won since The C.J. Cup in October. He’s finished in the top 8 at both majors this year and has three straight top-10 finishes at the U.S. Open. He likely will be in contention once again this year.

3. Xander Schauffele Odds to Win U.S. Open +2200

Schauffele simply dominates the U.S. Open. In five career starts at the tournament, his worst finish is T-7. Although he doesn’t have an individual win since January of 2019 he’s been close and has won an Olympic gold medal and the Zurich Classic with Patrick Cantlay. So it’s only a matter of time before he wins a major.

4. Will Zalatoris Odds to Win U.S. Open +2500

Not only does Zalatoris crush the U.S. Open, but he also crushes majors in general. In eight majors, he has five top-10 finishes, including a WD at the 2021 British Open due to a wrist injury. After losing to Justin Thomas in a playoff at the PGA Championship, there may be some extra motivation for the 25-year-old.

5. Jon Rahm Odds to Win U.S. Open +1400

It’s hard not to include the defending champion in the top 5. Rahm has the skill to win on a difficult golf course and enters the week in good form, coming off a win at the Mexico Open last month and a T-10 in his last start at the Memorial.

6. Scottie Scheffler Odds to Win U.S. Open +1400

The No. 1 player in the world has cooled off a bit after his dominance this spring, but even so, this includes losing to Sam Burns in a playoff a few weeks back at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Scheffler will look to rebound at the majors following a missed cut at the PGA Championship.

7. Matt Fitzpatrick Odds to Win U.S. Open +2800

This week, Fitzpatrick will be a popular pick as he won the 2013 U.S. Amateur at The Country Club. And although he’s yet to win on the PGA Tour, he has six top-10 and eight top-25 finishes this season.

8. Cameron Smith Odds to Win U.S. Open +2200

The No. 4-ranked player in the world isn’t playing nearly as well as he did in the spring when he won the Players Championship and finished T-3 at the Masters. But Smith has inserted himself as one of the best players in the world and is a threat to win every time he tees it up.

9. Collin Morikawa Odds to Win U.S. Open +2800

A few months ago, Morikawa would have likely been in the top 5, but his recent play is cause for concern. Since finishing fifth at Augusta, the 25-year-old’s best finish in his last five starts is a T-26.

10. Jordan Spieth Odds to Win U.S. Open +2500

Spieth is always threatens to win when he tees it up, especially in majors. But, if he doesn’t find the fairways with his driver, it could mean trouble given the small greens and thick rough.

11. Sam Burns Odds to Win U.S. Open +2800

Burns has three wins this season and is knocking on the door of being considered a star. However, with that said, the 25-year-old hasn’t had any success in majors. In eight majors, he’s made just four cuts, and his best finish is a T-20 at the PGA Championship earlier this year.

12. Shane Lowry Odds to Win U.S. Open +3300

The 35-year-old is playing some of the best golf of his career, including a win at the 2019 British Open. Lowry also has past success at the U.S. Open to fall back on – two career top-10 finishes.

13. Patrick Cantlay Odds to Win U.S. Open +2200

Cantlay proved he’s one of the game’s best by winning the FedEx Cup a year ago, but his record in majors is hard to ignore. In 21 major appearances, he has just two top-10 finishes and eight top 25s.

14. Cameron Young Odds to Win U.S. Open +5000

This might be too high, but I really, really like the PGA Tour rookie, and he showed just how talented he is by finishing in third place at the PGA Championship. Young hits the ball a long way, and if his short game cooperates, he certainly is capable of winning.

15. Viktor Hovland Odds to Win U.S. Open +2800

Hovland is one of the best iron players in the game, but the issue is his play around the green ranks toward the very bottom on the PGA Tour. When it comes to Strokes Gained Around-the-Green, Hovland ranks 202nd.

16. Joaquin Niemann Odds to Win U.S. Open +4000

The 23-year-old is enjoying a breakout season, including a Genesis Invitational win. But, like some other top players, Niemann hasn’t had much success in majors. In 13 starts, his best finish is a T-23.

17. Brooks Koepka Odds to Win U.S. Open +4000

A two-time U.S. Open champion, Koepka normally would be ranked higher, but he isn’t playing all that well this season. He has six missed cuts in 14 starts and just two top-10 finishes.

18. Hideki Matsuyama Odds to Win U.S. Open +4000

Matsuyama has battled injuries over the course of the year, but with how good his ball-striking is, this could be a course that the 30-year-old has some success at.

19. Sungjae Im Odds to Win U.S. Open +4000

Im was forced to miss the PGA Championship due to COVID, but he is one of the steadiest players on Tour. In 18 tournaments, he has 12 top-25 finishes. Like several others ranked high, his ball-striking is exceptional and has a good chance of contending.

20. Tony Finau Odds to Win U.S. Open +3300

Finau is too good of a talent only to have two career wins on the PGA Tour. He has performed well in majors, though. In 24 starts, he’s finished in the top 10 10 times.

21. Dustin Johnson Odds to Win U.S. Open +4000

Johnson will enter the week following playing in the first LIV event, which could potentially be a distraction for him. With that being said, Johnson has a solid U.S. Open track record – six top-10s in 14 appearances.

22. Max Homa Odds to Win U.S. Open +5000

Homa has recently won some special events – the Genesis Invitational (2021) and the Wells Fargo Championship (2022). The 31-year-old is streaky, but all he needs is some confidence to get things going in the right direction.

23. Mito Pereira Odds to Win U.S. Open +6600

This isn’t just expecting a bounce-back after his tough 72nd hole at the PGA Championship. Pereira ranks sixth on the PGA Tour this season in greens in regulation percentage (70%). This stat will be vital considering how small the greens are at The Country Club.

24. Billy Horschel Odds to Win U.S. Open +5000

Horschel is one of the more underrated players on the PGA Tour, and he will enter after a win at the Memorial. Although, his record in majors is not good. Besides a T-4 at the 2013 U.S. Open, he has no top-20 finishes in 34 starts.

25. Davis Riley Odds to Win U.S. Open +6600

He needed Final Qualifying to get into the field, but the PGA Tour rookie has the potential to make some noise. Riley has three top-5 finishes in his last six starts on top of a T-13 finish at the PGA Championship. The 25-year-old is a name to know.

26. Corey Conners Odds to Win U.S. Open +6600

Conners isn’t going to blow anyone away with any facet of his game, but he’s extremely consistent and steady. That is what U.S. Opens demand.

27. Tommy Fleetwood Odds to Win U.S. Open +5000

Fleetwood is one of the better players who hasn’t yet won on the PGA Tour. However, after some struggles the last few years, he will enter the week with some momentum following a T-5 finish at the PGA Championship last month.

28. Bryson DeChambeau Odds to Win U.S. Open +8000

The 28-year-old is only this high because of his potential. He likely still isn’t 100% healthy following wrist surgery after the Masters, but if DeChambeau is on, he certainly is capable of winning. In addition, he will generate some extra attention for committing to the LIV Tour last week.

29. Daniel Berger Odds to Win U.S. Open +5000

Berger is a terrific talent, but health issues have held him back. In 11 starts this season, he has seven top 25s and three top 10s. Some may forget he finished in the top 10 at both the British Open and U.S. Open last summer.

30. Aaron Wise Odds to Win U.S. Open +8000

It feels like Wise could break out very soon, and now maybe that time is coming off a second-place finish at the Memorial. The 25-year-old is too good of a player to only have one career win.

31. Abraham Ancer Odds to Win U.S. Open +6600

The 31-year-old is coming off a top-10 finish at the PGA Championship, so he has the confidence he needs. Ancer is great off the tee but has struggled on the greens historically. However, if he can putt close to average, he has a chance to contend.

32. Tyrell Hatton Odds to Win U.S. Open +8000

A few years ago, Hatton would have much better odds, but he hasn’t played well of late. Although he did finish T-13 at the PGA Championship, maybe that’s all he needed to turn things around.

33. Keegan Bradley Odds to Win U.S. Open +10000

Bradley grew up in Massachusetts, so this tournament means a little more to him than past. The 36-year-old is known for solid ball-striking, which is needed at U.S. Open courses. He will undoubtedly be a crowd favorite.

34. Justin Rose Odds to Win U.S. Open +6600

The 41-year-old certainly isn’t the player he once was, but he’s had quite a bit of success in majors, including winning the 2013 U.S. Open. Even just last year, he recorded two top-10 finishes in majors. He’s also coming off a final-round 60 in Canada last week.

35. Louis Oosthuizen Odds to Win U.S. Open +6600

Oosthuizen hasn’t been at full strength health-wise this season, but he’s always a threat. The 39-year-old has been a runner-up in all four majors. Just last year, he finished second at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open and third at the British Open.

36. Webb Simpson Odds to Win U.S. Open +8000

These are decent odds for a player who has won a U.S. Open before and is playing some decent golf of late. Simpson finished T-20 at the PGA Championship, which showed he’s back at full strength from a health perspective.

37. Harold Varner III Odds to Win U.S. Open +10000

Varner is a solid player who has yet to win on the PGA Tour. But, the 31-year-old doesn’t have a great record in majors. His best finish is T-23 at this year’s Masters.

38. Patrick Reed Odds to Win U.S. Open +8000

Reed underwent some swing changes earlier this year, and it seems like he’s figured it out a bit of late. The 31-year-old finished T-7 recently at the Charles Schwab Challenge. However, his grinding mentality makes him a good fit for the U.S. Open.

39. Talor Gooch Odds to Win U.S. Open +10000

Gooch has a win and four top-10 finishes this year, but he made headlines recently for joining the LIV Tour.

40. Marc Leishman Odds to Win U.S. Open +15000

It hasn’t been the best of seasons by Leishman’s standards, but he’s found himself on the first page of the leaderboard at majors countless times before. With his talent, he never should be counted out.

41. Adam Scott Odds to Win U.S. Open +12500

Scott is too good of a player to be completely written off at majors, even at 41. That said, he finished T-48 at the Masters and missed the cut at the PGA Championship this year. In addition, he doesn’t have a top-25 finish since March.

42. Seamus Power Odds to Win U.S. Open +10000

The 35-year-old Irishman doesn’t have much major experience, but he’s enjoying a breakout season that includes a T-9 at the PGA Championship.

43. Gary Woodland Odds to Win U.S. Open +12500

Some may forget Woodland won this event in 2019. While he’s not playing as well as he was then, don’t discount the 38-year-old.

44. Jason Kokrak Odds to Win U.S. Open +12500

Kokrak is a solid player but still looking to make a name for himself in majors. His best career finish is a T-17 at the 2020 U.S. Open. He has won three times on the PGA Tour, including twice last year.

45. Kevin Kisner Odds to Win U.S. Open +25000

Mentally, Kisner certainly has what it takes to win this tournament as he is one of the best grinders on Tour. The biggest thing that holds him back is his lack of length, which may not be a huge factor this week.

46. Tom Hoge Odds to Win U.S. Open +15000

Hoge won at Pebble Beach earlier this year and finished T-9 at the PGA Championship. He has as much confidence as ever and is one of the premier iron players on Tour.

47. Sergio Garcia Odds to Win U.S. Open +12500

Garcia has just one top-25 finish this calendar year, and a lot of the focus with him this week will be surrounding the LIV Tour. Several years ago, he’d be considered one of the favorites, but not this year.

48. Kevin Na Odds to Win U.S. Open +12500

The 38-year-old is one of the best putters in the game, which will come into play at The Country Club. But the rest of his game isn’t the same standard. Like Garcia, the LIV Tour will also be a storyline with him this week.

49. Luke List Odds to Win U.S. Open +12500

List is having a breakout season at the age of 37. He won earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open, which was played at Torey Pines, a past U.S. Open course.

50. K.H. Lee Odds to Win U.S. Open +20000

Lee is one of the more underrated players on the PGA Tour, and his win to go along with five top-25 finishes this season should not be ignored.

51. Brian Harman Odds to Win U.S. Open +15000

52. Russell Henley Odds to Win U.S. Open +15000

53. Adam Hadwin Odds to Win U.S. Open +15000
