Masters Betting History
Everyone who bets on the great sport of golf knows that when it comes to major championships, especially the Masters at Augusta National, experience matters. The last guy to win in his first appearance at the Masters was a man named Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979, so you are going back quite a ways to find a guy who won this thing on his first go. To be fair, Will Zalatoris finished runner up last year behind the champion Hideki Matsuyama, and it was his rookie season. So while it isn't impossible to win it as a young golfer who hasn't played there before, it is very difficult. We also wouldn't advise betting on that off chance, unless it's a small amount.
You can point at some of the most recent Master's winners and top performers, and see that is reflected in these odds at BetMGM. However, that doesn't mean that they are sure to win. In fact, three of the last five Master's champions have had odds of +3000 or more going back to 2017 when Sergio Garcia took home the green jacket at +3000 odds.
