The NHL Global Series wraps up over in Finland when the Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets finish off their series over in Finland. The Avalanche secured a victory in the first game on Friday, so they will look to run it back today and grab another couple points for their total. As I said in yesterday's playbook, the Avalanche have had their struggles this season, but I firmly believed they would bounce back from them. They were able to do that, and this team is too talented not to be one of the better squads in the Western Conference. They've just been very average thus far, but they will adjust.

As for the Blue Jackets, this team continues to spiral down the losing hole, and I'm not sure it's going to get better. Once again, the goaltending and defense was horrible against Colorado, and was the main reason they lost. The offense wasn't much better, but at least they were able to keep close in shots and puck possession in the game. The Avs don't have an all-world defense this year either, so they should be able to get a decent amount of chances in. They have star talent, but they just haven't been able to get things going.

PICK: Colorado should sweep this Global Series, and I think they do. Columbus is an auto-fade right now until they start winning consistently. Give me the Avs in this one.

My goodness, the Bruins just keep on winning games. When will they be stopped? Boston is a ridiculous 10-1 on the year, and they have been outstanding on both ends of the ice. They score plenty of goals, averaging over four per game, and they allow less than three on average each time out. It's hard to point out a weakness on this team, because they really haven't had any up to this point. The worst thing I could say about them is that they are allowing 31 shots per game, but that is around league average. They have proven to be the best team in the NHL out of the gate, and we'll see just how long they can keep this up. They have won seven straight games.

Toronto is the challenger on this Saturday to take down the mighty Bruins. They certainly have the talent to make that happen, but it will nevertheless be a difficult task. I've been very disappointed with the offensive output of this team so far, scoring less than three goals per game is unacceptable with players like John Tavares, Austin Matthews and Mitch Marner. They have been solid defensively, allowing 28 shots per game, and the goaltending also has been pretty good. They just can't seem to get the puck in the net, and it has cost them early.

PICK: The Bruins are getting plus-money here again. Everyone wants to bet on their streak to end, but no one knows when it will. I thought the Rangers would last game because I like that team, but Boston dominated them. Just give me the plus-money here with the better team. Could they finally lose? Sure, but why lay money for it to happen?

The Blackhawks are truly a conundrum that I can't figure out. They beat the Kings the other day, which we had LA in the game, and they have been beating teams that are just much better than them. Chicago is getting outshot in almost every game they have played, and getting absolutely dominated in puck possession. They are allowing 34 shots per game and only taking 25 of their own, but they keep winning. The offense has been bad, the defense has been bad, and the goaltending has been average. Yet they are 5-4-2. I can't make heads or tails of this team.

Winnipeg definitely won't be the best team that Chicago has faced this season. Sure, they have a 6-3-1 record, but they are getting outshot each night on average 32 to 30. They have gotten some tremendous goaltending, allowing less than three goals per game, but the offense has struggled to score. They average less than three goals per game.

PICK: Why not take a shot with the Blackhawks? Winnipeg is definitely the better team, and they are at home, but they aren't that good. Chicago has beaten tougher opponents. Small play here.
