Looking to cash in on some anytime touchdown bets for Monday Night Football in Week 8? This Giants vs. Steelers matchup features several intriguing TD options, from Najee Harris' red zone dominance to Daniel Jones' mobility and Darnell Washington's potential new role in the Steelers’ offense.
Steelers RB Najee Harris To Score A Touchdown (+100, BetMGM)
After failing to find the end zone in the first five weeks of the season, Harris is coming into this game with two consecutive 100-yard performances and two consecutive weeks finding pay dirt. Last week’s 21-carry, 102-yard performance with a score against the Jets was probably his best all-around showing of the season factoring in the quality of the opponent’s defense, but he should be able to eat in this matchup. The Giants have been shredded on the ground by opposing running backs this season, allowing 5.3 yards per carry (2nd-most in NFL) and while they’ve surprisingly been tough at allowing running backs to rush the ball into the end zone (which is why you can get this at +100), Harris has seen 24 red zone opportunities compared to 30 from the rest of Pittsburgh’s skill position players combined, including six from backup Jaylen Warren. I think Harris is going to run wild on Monday Night Football and plan on doubling my money.
Giants QB Daniel Jones To Score A Touchdown (+550, DraftKings)
I love targeting players in desperate situations and that’s exactly what Jones finds himself in on Monday night. The Giants are 2-5. He was benched at the end of last game and publicly spoke out about how much it annoyed him. He’s 0-7 on Monday Night Football in his career. The time might be coming for Drew Lock to take over… unless he can show Brian Daboll what he can do and lead the G-Men to victory in this game. One way that he can do that is not just with his arm, but his legs as well. With 50 carries for 184 yards on the season, Jones hasn’t yet found the end zone, but carried the ball 11 times on two different occasions and will likely need to scramble to get away from pressure, per usual. At +550, I’ll absolutely take a shot on this. All we need is for him to cross the goal line and if there’s any week to lower his shoulder or put his body on the line, it’s this one.
Steelers TE Darnell Washington To Score 1st Touchdown (+4000, BetMGM)
I was critical of the move to Russell Wilson from Justin Fields, but if it means we’re going to see more opportunities for Washington, I’m all for it. The 6’7 monster caught four passes on four targets for 36 yards last week in Wilson’s first start, all of which were career-highs for the two-year pro. Washington has played 50+% of the snaps in all but one game this season so far and he’s been heavily utilized as a blocker, but Wilson’s love of throwing to his tight ends (including backup tight ends) is well-documented over the course of his career. This is worth a sprinkle - if you don’t want to get this crazy, he’s +1300 for an anytime touchdown.
