Week 4 MNF Betting Lean: Titans vs. Dolphins in a Low-Scoring Showdown

Evaluating Betting Angles for a Primetime Struggle Between Two Winless Teams

There are two games on Monday Night Football once again this week, and if you decide to watch this game over the Seahawks and Lions matchup, you truly are an NFL sicko. Either that or you are a fan of one of these terrible teams, in which case I apologize. I am not a fan of the double-header MNF game; I like to catch every minute of the action, and picture-in-picture just doesn’t hit the same. Still, you don’t have to watch this game to bet on it, and I am sure I will end up having a wager here in some way or another. Right now, I have a lean on which way I want to play this game. The Dolphins are a -1 favorite, with a total of 36.5.

The Titans are coming off another miserable loss, this time to the Packers with a final score of 30-14. They have started the year 0-3, and generally have looked like a total disaster, especially on offense. QB Will Levis has made some of the most boneheaded decisions we have seen since Nathan Peterman was the face of the NFL meme world. As a result of this poor play and the fact that they have Levis starting, I believe that the public will be backing the Dolphins in this game.

Miami travels back home after getting spanked by the Seahawks in Washington last weekend, 24-3. It was never even close, and as someone who had a Dolphins +4.5 tickets, it was excruciating watching them be down 17-3 the whole game and teasing the even slight chance they could cover that number. QB Skylar Thompson, who is not an NFL caliber player in my opinion, was injured in the game. Tim Boyle, who had more interceptions than touchdowns in COLLEGE, could get the start. However, he will have Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and all that jazz, which people will love.

Right now, as I am looking at the latest betting splits, the public is backing the Dolphins here with 58 percent of the tickets on that side. The total is just insane at 36.5, as the books clearly hate both of these offenses, and who could blame them? Will Levis vs. Tim Boyle or Skylar Thompson, a showdown worthy of a primetime contest.

According to Action Network’s Evan Abrams: through three games, the Dolphins have not led a second of any game, losing wire-to-wire in Week 2, 3 vs. Bills, Seahawks without a lead and winning at the buzzer vs. Jaguars in Week 1. They are the only team in the NFL that has not had a lead at any point this season.

Miami’s 33 points scored this season is the fewest in the NFL. For some perspective, Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey had 35 points scored this season heading into Week 4.

In full transparency, I have not bet the game yet, and probably won’t until Monday. There is plenty of time for money to come in on this game and flip the favorite here, and I want to know who gets the most money and tickets. As it stands, I am leaning toward a wager on the Titans, which makes me puke.
