Dan Karpuc: Panthers +450 vs. Buccaneers
Coming off of a two-point road loss to the Steelers, it appears as though there might be some trouble in paradise for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, who are 3-3. While the Panthers recently fired Matt Rhule and traded away both Christian McCaffrey and Robbie Anderson, it's clear that this Tampa Bay team isn't exactly dominating on both sides of the ball right now.
Is there a huge chance of this upset occurring? Obviously not. But Carolina is a +450 home dog, two of their five losses came by a field goal or less and there are a locker room of angry, talented athletes who are still playing hard and with a ton of pride. This is definitely worth sprinkling some money on. Remember: anything can happen in the NFL!
Lucy Burdge: Lions +7 (+115) vs. Cowboys
I think the Lions can get back on the horse as spread-covering machines this week, after failing to cover the spread in their last two games. But they covered the spread against the Vikings in Week 3 as 6.5-point underdogs and there is a trend trifecta in their favor here: Dan Campbell is 6-0 ATS after a loss by 10 or more points while coaching Detroit and he is 9-2 ATS as an underdog of 3.5 to 9.5 points while coaching Detroit and 8-1 after allowing 175 or more rushing yards last game over his career. So I like the Lions to cover the spread in this one.
