Tom Brady Addresses Absence From Buccaneers Upon Return

See what BetQL is projecting for the Buccaneers this season amid Brady's comments about his absence

Tom Brady returned to the Buccaneers after an 11-day absence for personal reasons last week and addressed all of the rumors surrounding where he was during that time in a press conference on Saturday.

"Everyone has different situations they're dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives," Brady told reporters. "I'm 45 years old, man. There's a lot of s--- going on, so you just have to try and figure out life the best you can. You know, it's a continuous process."

That explains nothing about where he was. There is also a theory floating around that he is the Masked Singer, especially after a leaked clip showed one of the judges guessing Brady as the singer and Julian Edelman said it as a fact in a Reddit AMA (though he’s likely kidding). If Brady missed time with the team to go on the Masked Singer, I’d be out on rooting for him as a football player. To me, that would say his head isn’t in it anymore and I don’t want to root for a version of Tom Brady who isn’t one hundred percent focused on winning.

But based on the way he looked at this press conference, I’d think the reasons for Brady’s absence lie in his personal life. I am baffled by the way he looked, from his hair to his face, he looked tired and possibly like he had some kind of hair restoration treatment. And after what Devin White said about his teammates praying for him while he’s gone and the personal problems he has, it feels like something is off in his personal life.

The BetQL Model projects the Buccaneers will win 11.5 games this season to slide over their win total of 11.5. If you want to get in on the over for that total, you can get that at +115 at DraftKings, while the under is at -135.

So if you have not yet placed any futures bets on the Buccaneers for this season, I would hold off until after Week 1 because I have no clue how much of a distraction the “stuff” Brady has going on will be for him. The Buccaneers could still definitely go over their win total for this season because it’s Tom Brady at the helm after all, but I’ve never seen Brady like this before and that makes me skeptical.
