Ravens vs. Bills: An Insane Week 4 Betting Trend You Need to Know

One of the biggest games of NFL Week 4 will be on Sunday Night Football, when the Buffalo Bills travel south to take on the Baltimore Ravens. These two teams have had contrasting starts to their seasons, with Buffalo finding a ton of success early en route to their 3-0 record, and Baltimore struggling out of the gate with a 1-2 record. Still, the latter team finds themselves as a -2.5 favorite on Sunday night over the undefeated team.

The Bills just got done ripping the Jacksonville Jaguars to bits on Monday Night Football, claiming a 47-10 victory over the corpse of Doug Pederson and Trevor Lawrence at home. They look locked and loaded this season after everyone essentially said their championship window was closed after so many failed attempts to reach the Super Bowl. You should have known this was the time to finally make an investment in them.

However, this line tells me that the Ravens are indeed going to vanquish them this weekend and put that first blemish on their record. While Baltimore is a very public team, the Bills are going to get a lot of love from the squares after their performance on Monday, especially as an underdog getting points. I anticipate that the books may actually be rooting for the favorite in this one.

Lamar Jackson has also historically had a lot of success in this exact situation. The two-time NFL MVP is 23-7 ATS as a favorite of three points or less or as an underdog in his career. In all other spots, he has an atrocious 23-33 ATS record. So, when betting on Jackson, you always want to bet him as a small favorite or an underdog, which is what he is here with the line under the key of 3.

Some are going to be scared from betting on the Ravens because of their tendency to blow huge leads in the fourth quarter, which to be fair, is actually warranted. Baltimore has had a really difficult time closing games out as of late, blowing a double-digit lead to lose to the Las Vegas Raiders a few weeks ago, and then allowing Dallas back into the game after leading 28-6 on the road last week. It has been a very real and serious issue for them.

Still, this just seems like an excellent spot for them here to get back to .500, and the Bills due for a letdown off of that massive blowout win. I’ll be waiting until Sunday to actually bet it, as I always want to see the betting splits before I make a wager, but I would be shocked if I am on Buffalo in this game.
