NFL Week 6 Public & Sharp Betting Report

NFL line movement, sharp bets and heavy public favorites for Week 6

We're already in Week 6 of the NFL season, and time has flown by. Another terrible Thursday Night Football game started us out with the Commanders defeating the Bears in Chicago, 12-7, and all of us are pretty tired of our eyes bleeding from some of these primetime matchups. Guess what? The Bears are back in primetime next Monday night! I know you are excited for that. Scoring is down all across the league this season, and our model has taken note of that and adjusted accordingly to the surprising resurgence of defense we have seen so far.

Not only do we have our model's best bets and expert articles, but we also have live data tracking what the public is betting, where the sharps are betting, and how the lines are moving. When you subscribe to BetQL, you'll gain access to all of that real-time data, as well as the best bets and key trends for every game.

Let's take a look at some of the data from the games below as we give you a sneak preview of some of BetQL's most helpful tools. Line Movement: Buccaneers at Steelers

The biggest line movement of the weekend comes in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game. Originally, the Bucs were favored by -6.5 points, but that went away very quickly. The line has moved a ton, and now Tampa Bay is sitting as a -9.5 favorite on the road. This was expected and shouldn't be a shock to anyone. The Bucs are coming off of a win over the Atlanta Falcons at home, a team that has been feisty all season long. Tampa hasn't looked great to start the year, but Pittsburgh may be in a league of their own. The Steelers got destroyed by the Buffalo Bills last week 38-3, and that has caused this line to start moving fast.

What this all means is that books have seen a massive influx of cash coming in on the Bucs. You can clearly see this on our "Line Movement" dashboard, which will show you the difference between the opening line and current number. BetQL's star ratings change immediately when the sportsbooks change theirs, so you can always count on us to have the most updated number.

Sharp Money: Cowboys ATS vs. Eagles

This week, the sharps seem to be going with Cooper Rush and the Dallas Cowboys against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. What is odd is that the line has moved in favor of Philadelphia, from -5.5 to -6.5. The public is heavy on the Eagles, as you might expect an unbeaten team to be at home against a backup QB. But we have sharp action on the other side.

Rush has been an absolute conundrum in Dallas to start this season. With Dak Prescott out, Rush has stepped in and his team has won every single game that he has been the starting QB. He was actually pretty awful last week against the Los Angeles Rams, throwing for just 102 yards, but the defense stepped up and they came away with another surprising victory. A whopping 82% of the money is on the Cowboys, but just 68% of the total tickets, a difference of 14% (the "Pro Betting Percentage"). Meanwhile, Philadelphia has 32% of the total tickets but just 18% of the money.

Therefore, sharp bettors are hammering the Cowboys to cover on the road. This data is available for every game of the slate for BetQL subscribers, so they always know which bet the high-rollers are backing. Compare this with our best bets for this game below.

Public Bet: Bengals -2.5 at Saints

Nobody wants a part of Andy Dalton and the New Orleans Saints this week against the defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals, but the red rifle isn't afraid of your public play. At the time of this writing, 80% of the total bets against the spread in this game are on the Bengals -2.5. Keep in mind, the Bengals just LOST to the Ravens last week, while the Saints beat a very feisty Seahawks team.

Betting against the public can be a smart strategy, though, when it creates value on the opposite side. It doesn't always pan out, so you always have to be mindful of how you're factoring in this data, but BetQL will help you make these decisions with our model projections and analysis.
