Dan Karpuc: Chargers -4 at Colts
This game doesn’t matter one bit for the Colts (4-9-1), but the Chargers (8-6) are firmly in the AFC playoff mix and are riding a two-game winning streak. Finally healthy offensively (for the most part), this Los Angeles team is getting hot at the right time. Under Brandon Staley, they’ve gone 6-0 ATS after two consecutive games with 40 or more pass attempts and 9-2 ATS after gaining 99 or fewer rushing yards in two straight games. Game-planning is crucial at the NFL level and while Staley and his staff rightfully get a lot of criticism for their in-game decision-making, they’ve historically performed at a dominant rate against the spread in this exact situation. The Colts are riding a four-game losing streak, have lost seven of eight and are now turning to Nick Foles as their third different QB starter this season. Give me the Chargers to earn the road win and to cover.
