Jets at Browns Week 2 Preview and Prediction

Cleveland looks to go 2-0 with Jacoby Brissett as QB

Jets at Browns Preview For Week 2

The Jets opened the season with a 24-9 loss against the Baltimore Ravens, where Joe Flacco filled in for the injured Zach Wilson and threw for 307 yards on 59 attempts against his former team.

The Browns escaped the Baker Mayfield revenge game 26-24 against the Panthers after rookie kicker Cade York kicked the game-winning field goal from 58 yards with 8 seconds left.

New York Jets

You read that right by the way, Flacco threw the ball 59 times Sunday against the Ravens. One of the big problems though was their inability to keep drives alive, going just 2-14 on third downs.

The Ravens also had just 274 total yards, yet were still able to put up 24 points while holding the Jets to just nine. Obviously, the Jets will have to move the ball a whole lot better if they want to come out with a win over the Browns, who have their own backup QB stepping onto the field Week 2 as well.

Cleveland Browns

Speaking of the Browns' backup quarterback, Jacoby Brissett had just 147 yards passing in that squeaker of a win over the Panthers. Most of the offense, as expected, came from running back Nick Chubb, who had 141 yards rushing, but no touchdowns though, on 22 carries. Kareem Hunt got in the endzone though and added 46 yards on the ground.

Cleveland was also 8-18 on third downs but averaged just 3.9 yards per pass.

My Favorite Pick: Browns -6.5

Cleveland has more in terms of talent on both sides of the ball, even with Brissett starting under center. If they continue to feed to ball to their running backs, they'll stay in position to in games, and that should continue against the Jets.
