Glasser: Fade This 2023 NFL Contender In 2024

After going 13-4 and making it to the AFC Championship Game with the help of NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, BetQL Network's P.J. Glasser is going to fade the Ravens this season

Fade The Ravens In 2024

On a recent episode of BetMGM Tonight, BetQL Network hosts P.J. Glasser and Nick Ashooh discussed whether the Ravens or Texans would be playoff contenders or pretenders and Glasser delivered a surprising take about one of the teams.

“I'm worried about the Ravens this year,” exclaimed Glasser. “They're losing a lot. They're losing three key offensive linemen for them from last year's team. Defensively, they're losing guys at all three levels. They're losing guys on the defensive line. They're losing Patrick Queen, their linebacker. They're losing Geno Stone in the secondary. They just don't have as much depth.”

The Ravens went 13-4 in the regular season and lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game last year, but had some offseason roster and coaching staff turnover.

Glasser continued, “But we're not making a big enough deal about this Mike McDonald loss. I've watched a lot of Ravens football, and they have had good defensive coordinators in the past. He is elite, Nick, to the point where... where I was in the camp with people who I would have fired John Harbaugh if it meant keeping Mike McDonald as head coach. Wow. I think that highly of that guy. There was somebody out there who said that Mike McDonald is defensive Sean McVay, and it is the perfect comparison. That's what he is. He's a young, defensive genius. I think he's going to do great things in Seattle.”

Questions About MVP, Schedule

He added, “You know, Lamar, obviously, he has been hurt before. And the three full seasons he has been healthy, he's won MVP two of them. The problem is he's also had two seasons where he's been hurt for six or more games. And their schedule is going to be brutal. They play in the best division in football. And I just, you know, look, I mean, certainly they could make the playoffs. Maybe they're like a 10-11 win team and get in as a wild card team. But I think certainly it could be worth a bet for them to miss.”

Jackson won the NFL’s MVP honor by amassing 3,678 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions with a 102.7 quarterback rating to go along with 821 rushing yards and five more scores on the ground. But, he has a proven history of injuries that's always a threat to pose issues.

If you want to tail Glasser’s take, you can grab under 11.5 regular season wins for Baltimore at -160 and get +250 odds on the Ravens to miss the playoffs at BetMGM!
