Carson Wentz had a strong debut for Washington in their 28-22 win over the Jaguars. It wasn't mistake-free by any stretch, but it was strong enough to help lead the Commanders to a win that came with a late game-winning drive.
The Lions on the other hand lost 38-35 to the Eagles, coming just short of a fourth-quarter comeback.

Wentz threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns in the win last week, but did add a couple of picks in the process.
Rookie Jahan Dotson seems to be building a comfort level with Wentz, catching two touchdowns in his NFL debut, including the eventual game-winner. Curtis Samuel, Antonio Gibson and Logan Thomas all saw more looks than Dotson, which shows the potential of this Washington offense.
Washington was also 7-of-10 on third downs against Jacksonville.

Detroit Lions
Detroit really found a rhythm on the ground last week against the Eagles with 181 yards rushing (6.5-yards per rush) along with three touchdowns.
Washington allowed 6.8 yards per carry against the Jags in Week 1.
Something that's been gaining more and more steam about the Lions now comes with their home crowd, a factor they'll be able to use against Washington. Commanders at Lions Prediction: Lions -1.5
The Commanders are 1-5 straight up in their last six against the Lions, while Detroit is also 5-0 ATS in their last five home games.
Washington and Detroit both seem to at least be trending the in the right direction, but the home field advantage here will give the Lions the edge.
