The Colts added Matt Ryan in the offseason after sending quarterback Carson Wentz to Washington, with clear expectations to get back to the playoffs. Indy has a win total of 9.5 and are heavy favorites to win the AFC South at -140.
The Texans, well, they're looking at this season a little differently, with "rebuild" being the accurate word here, tied with the Falcons for the lowest win total at just 4.5.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have at least a solid idea of who Matt Ryan is at this point of his career, and even though we've seen a decline over the last few years, he brings a steadiness to the position they haven't had in years. Running back Jonathan Taylor is their biggest weapon anyway after rushing for 1,811 yards and 18 touchdowns, and you can expect a heavy dose of Taylor against a Texans team that allowed the second-most yards on the ground in 2021.
Indy is 7-1 ATS in their last eight against Houston, and like I said, this is a team with their eyes on the No. 1 overall pick in 2023.

Houston Texans
Davis Mills had a solid finish to the season last year, throwing 9 touchdowns and just 2 picks with a passer rating of 102.4 over his last five games, and they're clearly ready to at least see what he can do with a full offseason and training camp as the starter.
That being said, he's still an inexperienced quarterback going up against a defense that was ninth in the NFL in points allowed.

My Favorite Pick: Colts -8
Houston went 8-9 ATS last year, at least showing there was an effort to try and win given their circumstances, while the Colts went 10-7 ATS, but Houston is just 1-7 straight up in their last eight home games, while the Colts have that solid record pointed out before against the spread when playing the Texans.
