Buffalo Bills Preview

Week 6 in the NFL delivers us one of the best matchups of the year. Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes is this generation's Brady vs. Manning, and we will probably see it almost every year. Somehow though, this game wasn't scheduled in a prime-time slot, which is very curious. It's a late afternoon game, and will still be nationally broadcast in most areas of the country, but it should have been a night game. Either way, let's get on with the preview here.

Do I really need to preview the Bills though? Everyone knows about how dangerous this team is, and how easily they can put up points. They will be extra motivated for this game as they try to avenge last season's AFC Divisional Round loss to Kansas City, so you will see the very best that this team has to offer here in Week 6. The NFL even changed the overtime rules because of that game, which robbed Josh Allen a chance to match Mahomes in the extra quarter. The under is 4-1 in Bills games this season, and 3-0 in their road games, but that isn't because the offense hasn't been scoring. Week 5's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is a perfect example of a Bills win, beating them 38-3 in a massive route. When they win, they usually win big.

Buffalo is the best team in football in the eyes of most people who watch the NFL. They lead in the NFL in yards per play at 6.7, while also giving up only 4.4 yards per play, which is the second-best mark in the NFL. They're also first in third down conversion percentage, getting a first down on 55.74% of their third downs. They also rank third in yards per pass attempt, and now take on a Chiefs team that ranks 31st in opponent completion percentage. They have been totally dominant to this point, and it would be hard for anyone to bet against them. I will say, they have been "worse" on the road than at home, but I use the word worse very loosely. This is an excellent team no matter where they play, but just something to keep in mind before betting on this game.

Kansas City Chiefs Preview

Kansas City escaped Monday Night against the 1-3 Las Vegas Raiders with a 30-29 comeback win. But really, were you ever seriously doubting the Chiefs would come back? It was a great opportunity to take them at plus money to win the game when they went down 17-0, and I'm sure a lot of people did just that. The Chiefs did look beatable, however, especially on defense. If Las Vegas can put up that many points and yards, just imagine what the Bills will be able to do. I hope Mahomes and that offense are ready for another shootout at Arrowhead because that is exactly where this matchup is headed.

They will be, though. Kansas City is incredible on offense, and we have already seen that no matter how many points they are down, it really doesn't matter. They can come back and win. This will be the first time in Mahomes' career that he is a home underdog, which just tells you how great this team has been with him at QB and Andy Reid as head coach. There will be a lot of people who take the Chiefs because of that; you almost never get them at the price they are at.

Can we talk about Travis Kelce for just a second? He caught 4 TDs in the win against Las Vegas, and has been the best tight end in football for virtually his entire career. This guy is just automatic, and no matter how much a defense knows the ball is going to him, they simply can't stop it from happening. He'll be in the Hall of Fame five years after he retires, but for now, he'll just keep shredding everyone he comes into contact with.

My Prediction

This spread has gone in favor of the Bills, and now they are -3 favorites on the road at Kansas City. At this number, I don't think I would bet the game, but if you can find Buffalo for anything under a field goal, I am all over them. They are the better team here, and they are going to eviscerate this Chiefs defense into dust.

Give me Buffalo at -2.5 or better.
