Browns at Panthers Preview For Week 1

It's Brissett's team until he either loses the job or Watson comes back after his suspension. Cleveland is 1-5 straight up in its last six road games, and you have to take into account the extra motivation from the other sideline when it comes to Mayfield seeing his old team. Sure there's no trends or starts that can really measure it, but we all know it'll be there.
The total has hit the under in each of Cleveland's last five games against NFC South teams, and with Brissett starting, you have to expect more of a ground attack from the Browns, especially with Nick Chubb.

Carolina Panthers
Mayfield can say whatever he wants, but we all know this game means more to him. With a healthy Christian McCaffrey along with DJ Moore, he has some weapons to work with too.
Carolina was just 5-12 ATS last year, but that came with roller-coaster quarterback play. If Mayfield can come closer to his 2020 season (26 touchdowns and 8 interceptions), the Panthers are in a spot to chase a playoff birth in a pretty wide-open NFC.
Cleveland's success against the pass is something they'll need to overcome, maybe using more of McCaffrey against a Browns defense that was just 12th in rushing yards allowed last year.
