Line Movement: South Carolina at No. 13 Kentucky

This is one of the key games in Week 6 where we have seen some significant line movement from the opening number. QB Spencer Rattler was once a favorite to win the Heisman trophy to open up last season, but after a terrible stint at Oklahoma, he's moved on to the Gamecocks. It hasn't gone much better to this point. Rattler has just four touchdowns to seven interceptions, but his team is 3-2.

Kentucky is 4-1 on the year and they are at home, and this line has moved accordingly. We started out with Kentucky being favored by -6, but that line has since jumped up to -10.5. The Wildcats are clearly getting a lot of respect with that type of move, but people also just might not like the Rattler against a ranked opponent on the road. Kentucky is 4-1 ATS as well, and South Carolina is 3-2 ATS.

What this all means is books have seen a massive influx of cash coming in on the Panthers. You can clearly see this on our "Line Movement" page of our website, which will show you the difference between the opening line and current number. BetQL's lines change immediately when the sportsbooks change theirs, so you can always count on us to have the most updated number.

Sharp Money: No. 5 Clemson at Boston College

Boston College had some high hopes heading into this season, but their dreams have already been dashed with a 2-3 record to start the year. The smart folks certainly are loving them in this game, though, and maybe there is some value to be had here at the current number with the Eagles.

At the time of this writing, 60% of tickets are backing Clemson to cover as the -20.5 favorite, but just 24% of the money is backing those tickets. Almost 76% of the total money is backing Boston College versus the spread, but just 40% of tickets. That's a 36% difference between the total money wagered and the total ticket percentage, a huge sharp bet. This is a massive spread, but the big spenders are loving the Eagles to keep the game in hand against the Tigers.

This data is available for every game of the slate for BetQL subscribers, so they always know which bet the high-rollers are backing. Compare this with our best bets for this game below.

Public Bets: No. 20 Kansas State at Iowa State

Kansas State is 4-1 on the year after defeating No. 6 Oklahoma on the road and Texas Tech at home over the last two weeks. Not only that, but the Wildcats are also 4-1 ATS, so they have been covering spreads as well. Outside of a horrendous loss to Tulane, they have looked phenomenal over the first five weeks of the season.

Taking a look at our data, a huge 80% of the tickets are on Kansas State -1, so pretty much everyone is betting on the Wildcats to defeat the Cyclones and cover the spread.

Betting against the public can be a smart strategy, though, when it creates value on the opposite side. It doesn't always pan out, so you always have to be mindful of how you're factoring in this data, but BetQL will help you make these decisions with our model projections and analysis. Find out if our model is aligned with the public.
