Streaks are fun! Since we’re heading into Week 7 of the college football season, we finally have some solid ones to point to. Take a look at the top five mid-season streaks (three ATS, two O/U) to know and find out if our model is projecting them to continue!
James Madison is not only off to a perfect 5-0 start, but they’re also 5-0 ATS with a +22.5 average point differential (7th out of 131 FBS schools). However, this Georgia Southern team is 4-2 ATS and has gone 8-1 ATS over the last three seasons against teams that average 250+ passing yards per game. Since JMU averages 285.5 passing yards per game with star senior Todd Centeio (1,312 yards, 15 TD, 1 INT) under center, this conflicting trend is active. Which team does BetQL project to beat the spread? Find out below:
Colorado has been utterly embarrassing to start the year, as they’re 0-5 SU and also 0-5 ATS. As you might imagine, they’ve been thoroughly outplayed and hold a -29.8 average point differential (130th out of 131 FBS schools). California enters this game with 3-2 SU and 3-2 ATS records and under coach Justin Wilcox, they’ve gone 25-8 ATS off one or more consecutive unders and 23-10 ATS after a game in which they committed one or no turnovers. All the trends are pointing towards the Golden Bears, but does our model agree? See below:
Fresno State entered the year with decent expectations, but has fallen way short with a 1-4 overall record and 0-5 ATS mark. A recent injury to quarterback Jake Haener didn’t help, but this team lost outright to UConn and then got demolished by Boise State. Unfortunately for them, San Jose State not only enters this game with 4-1 ASU and 3-2 ATS marks, but has outscored their last three opponents (Western Michigan, Wyoming, UNLV) to the tune of 79-16. Under coach Brent Brennan, SJST has also gone 13-3 ATS after 2 games where they committed one or no turnovers. Find out which team BetQL is backing:
The over is 5-0 in Rice games so far this season and the total has finished an average of 7.9 points higher than the closing number. Florida Atlantic has the ability to put up points (they posted 43, 38 and 42 in various games), but they’ve also conceded a bunch as well, giving up 41, 40 and 45 in separate contests. Will the over hit again in this matchup? See the star rating below:
The under is 5-0 in Colorado State games so far this year and the total has finished an average of 7.4 points below the closing number. The Rams have one of the nation’s worst offenses and have scored 7, 19, 7, 10 and 17 points in their five games this year. Utah State has been engaged in some high-scoring affairs this year, but sportsbooks have been all over them; the under has gone 4-2 in their contests so far. See our best bet below; will the under win again and remain undefeated in Colorado State games?
