Dan Karpuc: Texas ML vs. Ohio State (+200, BetMGM)

After Ohio State beat down undefeated Oregon 41-21 and Texas needed a miraculous 4th down touchdown and an uncalled targeted penalty to beat Arizona State, everyone is going to be on the Buckeyes to win and cover this CFP semifinal contest. However, what have we learned year after year from Ryan Day’s program? No matter how dominant they can look at times, they consistently have come up short. Day and veteran OC Chip Kelly had a previous game against the Ducks and plenty of time to put together an awesome game plan, but won’t have that luxury against Texas. At the end of the day, the Longhorns’ two losses this season came against Georgia and they’ve shown an ability to make big plays and simply get the job done. At +200, I’m willing to back them once again.

Lucy Burdge: Texas +6.5 vs. Ohio State (-110, BetMGM)

I predicted Texas facing Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff from the start so I have them winning this one, or at least covering. It did take two overtimes for Texas to take down Arizona State, but before that game they covered two of their last three spreads. They are a bit inconsistent, but I think they can clean up some of the sloppiness we saw against Arizona State and keep this game within a touchdown.
